I2C between 2 PIC-Micros

If somebody has interest, I have created a Master-Slave communication between 2 PIC-Micros. Configured for PIC18F2680, goes for all PICs with HW-I2C.

Re: I2C between 2 PIC-Micros

Hi Creative25, I think that the two controllers are functional, as both have a master synchronous serial port. You only need to define master and slave fix, a multi-master environment does not work with these macros. It's best to load the progam change the processor type and compile everything. If c...

Re: I2C between 2 PIC-Micros

Hi Cobra, I2C is best understood when you read the I2C charts of the controller. There specified exactly how the process is done. The interrupt will remain inactive until the transfer has been completed (I2C stop). The Tmp variable is added for 2 reasons: for the buffer to empty and to prevent timin...

Re: I2C between 2 PIC-Micros

Hi, I used in the tests a number of different delays in order to implement the transfer. I think that it depends also on the clock frequency that the timer can run shorter. I used 2 PIC18F2680 with 4MHz clock frequency and the settings in the macros easily. Maybe shorten the settings for the timer a...

Re: Search a Character in a String

Thanks Medelec,
I have remembered too much around. Your tip is excellent and I have written a routine to this at once; I need this function to change semicolon separated data of a VB routine via WLan on the PIC-EEprom; Runs very well!
Thank you!

Re: GSM Compile Error

I think the fault lay with me. I had the GSM macro inserted and assigned UART Channel 2, but added no GSM Init. With the current configuration can compile the program. I hope that I do not still experience a surprise and it remains so.

Hi Rudi,

Thank you for your advice. I'll try it that way, does not look so complicated like my solution.

Re: Time.h for 8Bit PIC

Thanks for the great help. In this forum you are really in good hands! :D
I have already implemented a RTC, but your Example also looks very much of promise! 'm just by working on.

Thank you again!

Re: Help with Alert Routine please

Hi Acestu,
I have two flags installed so at too high or too low only one SMS is sent. Whether you want to send a SMS when reaching the normal state, is up to you. I installed it a try.
With DS1307, the logger can be expanded. You then send by the time the SMS.

Hi,
here is a proposal with recurring timer, adjustable to 60 hours repeating when a limit is over or undershot.

Re: Help with Alert Routine please

Hi,
as you mentioned here a version with RTC and time stamp for the event. The first message is instantaneous, each additional message delay (adjustable), but with the original event time.

Re: Help with Alert Routine please

Hi Stuart, the RTC_Init macro is for the first time to sync the RTC with actual Date/Time or adjust the date and time when the clock is off. The RTC is battery buffered since nothing is lost as long as the battery is ok. For the first time to initialize using a keypad and the Display to set the cloc...

Re: Help with Alert Routine please

Hi Stuart, in principle, yes, but the routine for first setting the RTC to the proper date / time values should not be dependent on an EEPROM value, but should be carried out manually. There are excellent posts here in this forum. One I like particularly, and the routine with keyboard and display fo...

Re: Help with Alert Routine please

Hi Stuart, the easiest way is via resistors. The input (Rx) of the GSM module must be performed via a resistor to the MCU (Tx), the output (Tx) of the GSM module can be connected directly to the MCU Rx. Here is an example from the Internet: gsm-modem-7-728.jpg Only Rx and Tx connected, no handshake....

Day of Week and DaylightSaving

I needed for my project (4 channel timer) automatic summer time and standard time changeover. Even if I use the Internet time (NTP) to synchronize the RTC, I must GMT 01 or GMT 02 send them along. That's why I've written a routine that calculated by the RTC data the switching data. This is based on ...

Find Substring and Find Character

It took me a function to search a substring in a string similar to the InString function in Visual Studio. The macro finds the first match and returns the position. This macro can also be used for Find Character. With one parameter can be adjusted even Uppercase and Lowercase. Tiny FindString.fcfx

Re: XC-Compiler: Free- or Pro Version

Thank you for your reference to the evaluation license. I built a 4-channel time switch with keys, SMS and WLAN controller and have used a PIC18F26K22. For this I had Nettime and Email via GSM, but this was simply no space in the program memory! Here the two results when compiling without Nettime an...

A problem with PIC18F26K22 / PIC18F46K22 with FC7 SOLVED!

Hi, I am using an SPI Card Reader (Micro SD Card) with a PIC18F26K22 and PIC18F46K22. Channel 1 is used for I2C, channel 2 is for SPI. Both channels work without problems in FC6. SPI on channel 1 is working, the following error message occurs in channel 2: -------------------------------------------...

FAT16 missing Init Timeout

Is it possible to implement a timeout setting for the FAT16 macro?
Currently the program will hang if the card is not inserted or is not detected.

Thanks!

Re: FAT16 missing Init Timeout

I have a workaround here with a timer, which interrupts the loop when the error message is returned and allows the further program sequence.
