Re: EBlocks Rotary Encoder....

Hi James,

1) They spin endlessly around
2) i beleive so yes

3) Quad encoders do not simulate at the moment within Flowcode, but the examples should work in hardware.

Re: PIC 18F2455 Differences With ECIO28....

I understand that to make it compatible it needs variation but on the chip for example Pin 15 is shown as RC4 on the Microchip datasheet but on Flowcode it is shown as RC0 and it's just confusing me somewhat! What you are seeing is not the chip. It is the module. So pin 15 on the module is RC0. You...

Re: PIC 18F2455 Differences With ECIO28....

Hello, The ECIO devices are meant to be compatible with each other i.e. a standard footprint across the 28P the 40P and the Arm. The ECIO devices are not meant to be pin compatible with the standard raw chip in any way. Some of the I/O on portc is not brought out for the user to use because it is al...

Re: ADC Component - Acquisition Time Help Please...

Hi As ULI said, that's the best option to do. I would sample ADC with normal 40 acquisition time, put the ADC value (without any processing) in an INT variable initialized to 0 outside loop. Put a delay of 100s of ms and repeat the whole process for 10 times if delay is 500ms which results to 5s del...

Re: ADC Component - Acquisition Time Help Please...

Hi I post an example how I used to slow down ADC reading and adding averaging it up. If you have a known ripple frequency you can adjust the delay so the ripple will be a multiple of the frequency the ADC reads so it makes a nice average. If I do not want to slow down the whole program I use a secon...

Re: OK Try This Problem Please....

Hi, Try to connect in series 4-5 1N4001 diodes in series and the same 4-5 in antiparallel. Tie an optocoupler(the led) whith a resistor in series parallel to this diodes so a voltage drop of 2,5-3V being capable to turn on the LED in optocoupler(you have to give some try on that, it depens on the op...

Re: OK Try This Problem Please....

Hi James, Simply using a resistor will probably not work because the mains voltage goes negative which would probably blow the micro pin. You could rectify the mains signal using diodes but there is still the possibility that a large spike will get through and destroy your micro. The opto solution w...

Re: OK Try This Problem Please....

I was thinking the same solution of steve..That is easy and hazard-less. But switch should be selected carefully as on NO will carry mains line for short time.

Re: OK Try This Problem Please....

SCAN_20130104_012553808_small.gif Hi, another solution is to use a secont relay 220vac instead of the push button. The relay will have two contacts(very easy). I send you a patern also with both circuits. The patern with diodes can used also for zero crossing detection in case you want to handle ac...

Re: Programming with MAG3110 Magnetometer

Thanks to everyone showing interest in my post, but I've sussed it and working just fine now :D I would however suggest better coverage of I2C in the help. If you code in C then a review of the code helps users establish what's going on. However, Flowcode is all about providing embedded accessibilit...

I recall when 0805 was regarded 'really small' - but that's just showing my age :(

...And now 01005 (AKA 'pollen') !!!

All the best,

Re: Reading LM35 Temperature IC

James, I ran into the same dilemma as you. I am using an LM35 equivalent that reads -40C to 125C 10mv per degree C. I do not know the PIC you are using, but going on the assumption that you have a 10 bit ADC 0-1023 If using a 5 volt supply, each ADC step will be worth 4.88MV If using a 3.3 volt supp...

Re: What Is The Cheapest Solution Please?

Hi James, Right if the satellites are connected directly or using short cables (< 10cm) then either I2C or SPI should work well. I2C is slower but a bit more robust to noise. These cables could be made longer if terminated correctly at either end to avoid transmission line issues. If the cables are ...
