Re: PWM frequency

Hiya D.Bouchier,
Just had a quick look at your flowchart.
you are using, both PWM and timer2.
I believe since PWM is driven by timer2,there could there be a conflict here?
Try using timer0 instead of timer 2.

Re: Programming 16F1827 on EB006 multiprogrammer board

I also done a silly thing,so anyone reading this: Warning "Please don't do this at home :P" Do not accidentally wire 13V psu to the 5V (+v) otherwise you will require a new programmer like I do right now! In my defence, I was stressed with other things at the the time. On the bright side,...

Scrolling Display for flowcode V3

I have developed a scrolling display, since V3 does not have scrolldispay function like V4 has. I have set the string to 26 characters. Just enter any message you like, then message will scroll from far right starting with just one character, then adding another as message travels across display to ...

Re: Weird problem with Game of Life

Hi Spanish_dude. Without seeing the program this is only a guess. Is this on an 8-bit pic? Chances are the bit-shifts are 8-bit. This means the instruction codes most likely only support (1 << 7) as the maximum shift available. I would guess that the ints are 'faked' using two byte values and accumu...

Re: Weird problem with Game of Life

Hmm. Im unsure what could be the issue then. Unfortunately I havent got a Pic8 to hand at the moment. The only thing I can suggest is that, having looked at the Flowcode maybe try bracketing the variables in the defines, though it doesnt look like this is a problem. Either that or big-endianness cou...

Re: USB Serial - Receiving '&hFF' in Flowcode 4

Hello, I have modded the component code slightly so that the receive byte macro now returns the value 256 for a timeout and 255 is valid data. Note that you will have to change your receive variable to type INT so you can check for invalid data. Copy the attached C file into your Flowcode v4/Compone...

Re: Game of Life on LED Matrix

Hello Nicholas

In the macro "Stop" , there is a delay of 10ms.
You can reduce it (down to 10us)

Re: Converting Hexidecimal to Integer & Interger to Hexideci

above is created with Flowcode V4 for PIC. Attached are Flowcode V3 for PIC Versions. Martin Edit:  I have altered files so the conversion is done within the conversion macro. That way you just load your game flowchart, and conversion flowcharts. Export conversion macros. Then after you import...

Variable Frequency Generator 500Hz to 5KHz (100 Hz Steps)

I have developed a simple Square wave frequency generator for Flowcode V4, which covers 500Hz to 5KHz in 100Hz steps with Frequency displayed on LCD. Also displayed is byte value of POT connected to RA0. I have used a 16F88 configured for 8MHz internal oscillator. This cuts down component count. You...

Re: Variable Frequency Generator 500Hz to 5KHz (100Hz Steps)

For people who are interested, I was asked in a pm how the 10V is generated: To generate 10V pk to pk with a 5V supply. here is a diagram to help illustrate principle On first 1/2 cycle: Simultaneously the software drives RA1 to 5V and RA2 to 0V on the 2nd 1/2 cycle: Simultaneously the software driv...

Re: Analog Example not working for me?

Hello Martin, Re configuration. Since it's a common issue, It would be nice if the defaults can be left so hardware will work assuming hardware was EB006 programmer. I guess that can't be done? :( We have built a way to do this into Flowcode v5. I have currently implemented this for the 16F88 and th...

Re: Register defintion

Hi Jan. You would typically use the pre-processor for this: #ifdef MY_CHIP char REGISTER_NAME; #else char YOUR_REGISTER_NAME; #endif This means that the C compiler would never see the inappropriate definition. For portability it may be an idea to define a 'generic' register name that you can use any...

Re: Auto shut down PWM in 12F1840

I found the solution!! First I took the microcontroller out of the EB 006 board. I was afraid to use the osc PINs for other pruposes. Then I found out that the PWM was at other pins as expected (even with 8 pins that is possible!!). Route the PWM pins to RA4 and RA5 needs apfcon0x03; Kind regards Jan
