The PIC16(F)L88 STORY - nearly there ....

Hi Benj and Martin, I didn't have to go to Microchip because it turned out that having realised that the problem was with the Rx LF88 (but the Tx LF88 was working OK), I made a minor change to exactly match the Rx with the Tx settings but it didn't seem to solve the problem. I now discover that it D...

Re: 12 switch to 12 LED

Hi all.... BRILLIANT - It all works a TREAT - I am 'over the moon' - special thanks to Benj, John, David and Martin for sparing the time to get this going against all the odds with my lack of experience with both programming and micro controllers in general. I really appreciate all your help. Martin...

Re: Flowcode cannot find ASM files

Very many thanks Ben - I wasn't even aware of that facility but it all working perfectly now. I was going to un-install (and might have spotted that) but was worried I might lose some of my hours of work. Thanks again. Cheers, Chris :D

Re: PIC output for piezo transducer

Hi Martin, Wow - so much food for thought and I got interested in the brilliant look up tables tutorial - just a question on THAT for future reference (I have only skimmed through it at this stage, so might be a silly question): can one print a string of a few words rather than a numeric value as th...

Re: 'Switches in simulation working but not on Matrix MM HP-

Hi Martin, My HP488 is actually version 3 but I assume it is similar in respect of the detail in question. The print on my copy of the scematic is so poor its unreadable so I will need to enlarge it on screen to write in the tie-insas they ARE rather than my assumptions! Thankyou soooo... much for t...

Re: HELP! - Simulates perfectly but not on breadboard

Hi Martin, I thought V4a was the definitive flowchart so hadn't tried V4 but when I realised IT was giving the binary code, I re-programmed the chip and sure enough it all works EXCEPT for C5/A5. The LED doesnt come on and the switch doesnt have any effect at any time in simulation or in bread board...

Re: HELP! - Simulates perfectly but not on breadboard

Hi Martin, SUCCESS! Yes it all works fine and as intended so thankyou sooooo much for the input needed to get things on the right track. Not ONLY that but thanks for your enlightenment on the Flowcode 'catches' by which other people seeing this post, might be helped too1 It has opened my eyes to the...

Re: Alarm addition

Hi Martin, Absolutely spot on and works beautifully - can't thankyou enough for all your effort and as I have said before, it is educational for me too as I try and suss out the ways of doing things. I just wish I had the time to get to grips with Flowcode a bit more - although I suppose I DO spend ...

Re: PWM Timing Clarification

Hi fellars, I didnt think anyone would be around last night! so I shut down after posting and missed your post kersing and as I didnt get a chance to check until a short time ago, I saw yours and Martins post at the same time so having disabled the de-bugging, it works a treat and exactly the same a...

Re: Re-installing Flowcode

EUREKA!! PERFECT! I ensured the pot was set to EXACTLY half the supply voltage showing and it sailed through! I then went to V4 tools to get PPP simple config to check the Auto Detect and whenever I did this before, it came up with a 'violation' message'. In the past, clicking OK did produce the 'Si...

Re: This is wierd

Hi Benj, Thanks for your reply to my last question - I didn't think there was a heat problem if just supply connected but 'clutching at straws' at the moment. Will post when sorted for the benefit of anyone coming across this unusual situation. I have had a cap(s) connected across the supply line an...

Re: This is wierd

Hi Benj, Yes it is the 16(L)F88 low power I am using and maybe thats why if battery wa a bit down the F88 did not appear to be working on my original project after a few weeks. HOWEVER, I hadn't had time to check chip with supply only connected earlier and just got back in but could not resist a qui...

Re: PIC16LF88 hardware connections for UART output

Hi Martin, Oops, I hadnt realised that 'character' was referring to an ASCII character! I see it all now! Yes, I was aware of those pins being the defaults for RS232 Tx and Rx as I dont try doing anything 'clever'with pin mods - hard enough as it is for me avoiding some of the other pit-falls! Very ...

Re: "Not getting the ASCII codes expected for 2 out of the 3

Hi Martin, SORTED111 You're a genius, that is EXACTLY what the problem has been! It seems to have also been the reason that I wasn't getting any outputs at all every now and then, because I am now able to use the same chips that I couldnt get to work before and was going to bin! Amazing that this ca...

Re: Queries about possibly moving from Flowcode v4 to v7

Very many thanks QMESAR and Benj, I am going for the chip pack but 3 component packs now (adding the I/O component pack, so 70 plus 15 plus VAT at Total of 102 pounds) and I will see how I get on with my HP488 programmer via mLoader for now. This is a good deal and big upgrade for me so thanks for t...

Hi,
Moving my last query regarding the 3D simulation to a more logical title under Board Index: 8-Bit PIC, '3D Printer Simulation'

Cheers,
