Re: Please Help with Codelock

however on the last decision it steps back if the decision is no... Oh yes in answer to your question, the reason it steps back when decision is no is because you have to release a key before it carries on to the next part. Summed up: 1) Flowchart waits for a key to be pressed. 2) When key is press...

Re: Please Help with Codelock

Hi Martin, that code is just the job, but now that I want to build it, how do I know what crystal to use with it, because it is not specified in the chip information... Hi Stuart, Those decisions you need to make for yourself. First workout how many i/p's and o/p's you require. then decide on the w...

Re: Please Help with Codelock

Ah yes I forgot to say... The simulator does not run in real time. If you look in Timer0_Tick Macro. you will see a decision branch ....Seconds>9 That means if you compiled to chip then it ran with an oscillator speed of 19.66MHz then the back light will only stay on for 9 seconds. Since simulator i...

Re: Please Help with Codelock

Here is the circuit diagram, It's not very big because the upload size is only 256k... Best way is load the larger jpeg with windows paint then save as .png Or do a screen shot, load in paint then save as png P.S. Where do I change the target speed ? Since you have used Flowcode version 5, you will...

Re: Please Help with Codelock

Hi Martin, I am a bit confused now, the LCD connections in flowcode are Data 1 to Data 4 also Enable and RS, but you say that the LCD should be connected to Data 4 to Data 7 , is this right ? Thanks Stuart Yes that's correct. I know its confusing, but in 4bit mode the 4 upper bits are used on the L...

Re: Please Help with Codelock

330K should be OK. all they are doing is pulling the i/p low. so the pins don't float which is undesirable. I guess a simple test would be: don't use keypad component just yet. Assign all connections to row as inputs. assign all connections connected to columns as high o/p's. in a repeat forever loo...

Re: Please Help with Codelock

opps I got 2 files mixed up and thought you had posted a V5 Flowchart. Sorry about that. Here is correct V4 version. Funny thing is somebody else in a different thread accidental loaded the wrong file and I said: I would be lying if I said I’ve never done that before. :P See proof I wasn't ly...

Re: Please Help with Codelock

All you do is change all the references from 11
to 10

So you should have:
If keypadnumber = 10

Re: Please, Please, Please

Hello Stuart,

Our latest videos are done in HD, we hope to redo the tutorial ones in HD along with some commentary at a later stage, and redo them for v5 as well. We apologise, but we do recognise the issue.

Re: ADC & PWM example please

Hi,
In hardware, you can simply use any pot linear or non-linear..if you want to have smooth intensity variation you have to use linear pot. 10K ohm pot should be nice to use.

Re: ADC & PWM example please

Hi Acestu, I would suggest you do a 1Hz LED flash test so you can confirm hardware is running at the correct Speed. E.g Loop while 1 1>C1 delay 500ms 0>C1 delay 500ms If that is ok then if you have a multimeter then measure voltage between pin 3 and GND. Make sure there is a full range (0 to 5V) as ...

Re: ADC & PWM example please

Is this method used in domestic house light switch dimmers ? When using PWM to control DC motors are they driven directly from the micro or does it have to be amplified somehow ? Actually most of the dimmer circuit used TRIAC to control power in the LOAD(light) which is triggered by RC circuit in n...

Re: Cancel Command ?

Hi Stuart,
I have added cancel functionality in RB0 pin which is implemented by INT. That's why I have to shift LCD bits from RB1 to RB6. Start bit to RB7.
You can now cancel anytime in test mode..

Re: Cancel Command ?

The way Enamul has implemented cancel function I would agree is the best way to do it. What I would also add to the flowchart is an output which resets port A to 0 just after connection point A: cancel function.png This will turn off any lights that are currently on just prior to test being cancelle...

Re: Cancel Command ?

This is not in all PIC..but present in some PIC ICs specially in RA4..This open drain is useful if you want to drive any device with higher or lower than PIC power supply voltage.. For example, If you want to drive any circuit directly from PIC which takes input 12V you can do that using this pin..s...

Re: Cancel Command ?

Hi Acestu, This is a known issue its to to with graphical interface. There are two ways around this. 1) Press pause (F7) then continue (F5) Or my personal favorite is: 2) Use Key mapping (See: http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/mmforums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=7873&p=21219&#p21219 ) to assign ...

Re: RTC ?

Hi, The add-on modules giving the facility of using RTC with backup power but I think you are feeling a bit expensive. In that case you can make a cheaper CAN bus based RTC module to be connected to MIAC. As MIAC I feel developed mainly to give a feeling of PLC still using same FC, so it will need t...

Hi The MIAC its self does not have a RTC. RTC funcionality can be added by using the Advanced addon module. This has a button cell inside the case to keep the time when power is removed. http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/product.php?Prod=MI3486&PHPSESSID= Alternatively, I have the serial expansion...

Re: E-Blocks UK Resellers

Hi Stuart,
In UK you can directly buy from Matrix why you need other re-seller..It's good to have product from main supplier always..although if you bought from re-seller still you get full support..
