Re: programming for HD44780 16x2 OLED?

Hi. I've been using these LCD's for some time now for my projects and they work great without any MOd's within Flowcode V5. Just remember to do the following: Connect the D0; D1; D2; D3 pins on the LCD to GND BIT 0 from the PIC (from which ever port) goes to D4 on the LCD BIT1 to D5 on the LCD BIT2 ...

Re: FC7 Professional - Compiler XC8

Hi Steve I have completed testing FC7 using the PID controller routine. It would not work at first even after making changes to the CALL macro's. The problem was identified as follows: - configuration bit - Extended Instruction Set . This feature is disabled by the free version of Microchip XC8 comp...

Re: FC7 Professional - Compiler XC8

Hi Kersing 5.3.2 Instruction Set Support The compiler support all instruction sets for PIC10/12/16 devices as well as the standard (legacy) PIC18 instruction set. The extended instruction mode available on some PIC18 devices is not currently supported. Ensure you set the Configuration bits to use th...

Re: Flowcode 7 - Data Sheet

Hi Benj Everything is okay thank you. I am liking FC7 very much. Just one thing though, regarding adding any additional packs via the user account. I had a little moment (probably an age thing with me), It was not clear at first how I was meant to get the additional pack added after purchase. Went t...

Re: FC7 Professional - Compiler XC8

Hi Steve OK, got the Macro calls all sorted and everything appears to be working, just need to recall the Prototype to test the altered code produced by FC7. FC5 HEX file was 52KB FC7 HEX file 46KB - smaller Does this mean that the Sourceboost compiler is no better or worse than Microchip XC compile...

Re: FC7 Professional - Compiler XC8

Hi Everyone I have sorted how to get your 60 day PRO evaluation of the Microchip XC8 License. First - download and install the XC8 installer and set it up with FC7 as shown above. Once installed you need to make sure you make a note of your Host ID. If you have already install your compiler, you can...

Re: Import flowchart of version older flowcode

Hi Enrique I have loaded a FC5 and FC6 programs, both had components in them that I had not purchased component packs for. Both loaded for me, just would not compile. I later purchased the additional pack to get access to the component that I needed, then FC7 compiled the program. Although, one of t...

Re: Flowcode V7 free/trial version

Hi Everyone Can't but help to make a few observations regarding the comments made here for the Windows 10 operating system. I have just upgraded to the Anniversary Addition of Windows 10 Pro - Ver. 1607. I as understand the contract I have with Microsoft (home user) is as follows: - 1 Year subscript...

Hi EtsDriver

Thanks for sharing your Graphics hardware details. It has help to suggest my concern that the problem may be to do with the drivers. We'll only know when other give details of their hardware/drivers that does not produce this problem.

Re: FC7 Professional - Compiler XC8

Hi Everyone I have been doing a follow up on the above speed test. This time to determine if there is any discernible difference between the two compilers (FC5 - BostC; FC7 Microchip XC8) with regards to math routines. Well, if my simple test is anything to go by, there is. Here are copies of the te...

Re: Memory use compare Flowcode 6 and 7

Hi Just out of interest. It would appear that, when FC7 allocates resources during compiling your program using the Microchip XC8 compiler, I have noticed resources seem to be prioritised towards the use of RAM. I am no expert, but that may be the reason I am seeing a speed increase during program e...

Re: One Wire Fails

Hi Benj My sincere apologies. The fault is all mine. The chip I am using is a PIC18F4550 and the compiler warning through me to believe the compiler had not done as I wanted. However, that is not the case as every thing is working once I made a change to the crystal clock settings. Communication to ...

Hi Everyone Just testing the 'Code profiling' feature of FC7. Its brilliant. There's a feature which is not stated in their Wiki page which is the percentage use the code gets. However, its is available from the drop down menu as shown here. If I've missed it somewhere in your literature I do apolog...

Re: Test & Debug - Code profiling

The percentage output control logic for the TRIAC controller, using the fuzzy logic to check percentage output for each state is never triggered at this point. Why this is happening, w...

Hi Late347 I would suggest that the 'Key Word' here for your key pad exercise is - 'handling Interrupts'. However, your selected PIC has only 1 interrupt pin 'B0'. So what can be learned from this. First, have you had a look at the key pad design. You will find it here: http://www.matrixtsl.com/reso...

Re: PWM - Half Bridge control

Hi Steve001 I have tried, without success, to achieve my goal using the half bridge PWM output to power the step-up voltage required (400 volts) to power the Geiger counter sensor. At 50% duty cycle, this was not enough to get close (315 volts only). However, I have studied your research document (P...
