Re: Flowcode5 & PICkit2 issue?

The default settings on you PC you would have got 'hide extensions of known type.' Which means the file Enamul is asking you to post would be the name with no extension (since it will be hidden) So you could try uploading that file. The file ending in 001 is just a backup of your main flowchart file...

Re: Flowcode5 & PICkit2 issue?

Hi Welcome to microcontroller world! You can go through a free course (Introduction to Microcontrollers) in Matrix Multimedia website to be more familiar and have more fun :) http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/lc_index.php?p=24 BTW, if you are using Flowcode v5 License version you can upgrade your stat...

Re: Flowcode5 & PICkit2 issue?

Hi Windows 8 did the same thing. try this link for vista http://www.mydigitallife.info/how-to-edit-or-change-file-type-or-extension-associations-default-programs-in-windows-vista/ there's several ways to do it on that page. Just make sure when you change to flowcode you make sure its set to default ...

Re: Flowcode5 & PICkit2 issue?

Here is the light chaser program, I have just thrown together for you.
I have altered the internal oscillator to 8MHz (2 million instructions per second)
To follow how the program runs step by step, just keep pressing the F8 key

I have added some notes to flowchart for you.

Hope you enjoy.

Same chaser application but using loops instead of decisions.

Re: Flowcode5 & PICkit2 issue?

In this tab it says that the file is a Microsoft Picture It! Document?? Does this sound right?? Nope don't sound right to me. When I push the button to compile to chip the busy light on my PICkit 2 programmer flickers so I assume the program is now in the chip? Not necessarily. You need to check wh...

Re: Flowcode 5-Shadow Detect Program

Hi, I have based a flowchart on the diagram you have posted. LDR connects to An2 Pot controlling sensitivity connects to An1 and delay is An2. Since delay is from 1 to 3581 seconds Pot delay adjustment will be very course in deed. LED output on C0 is active low. So when it gets dark, C0 goes from hi...

Re: Flowcode 5-Shadow Detect Program

John,

I think you should add at least one 100nF capacitor between 0V and 5V near the connections of the PIC and preferably a 10uF capacitor between 0V and 5V as well to stabilize the power.

Looking at the VR2 connections I am wondering what you are trying to achieve.

Best regards,

Jac

Re: Flowcode 5-Shadow Detect Program

I totally agree with Jac comments + your chip supplys are the wrong way round. 20 = 0V = VSS 1 = +5V = VDD. VR2 is not wired correct. Each end of pot goes between +5V supply and 0V. Middle wiper goes to pin 18 (An1) if used for controlling Brightness threshold. There is a pot missing for delay. You ...

Re: Flowcode 5-Shadow Detect Program

Hi John, Would I install the resistor for hysterisis between pins 16 and 18? Say 100K??? hysteresis can be done within the software. Re your circuit the negative supply is now showing on your circuit. Also the delay pot is connected to the same connection as the LDR connection which is inadvisable. ...

Re: Flowcode 5-Shadow Detect Program

your welcome John. Do you think the 100K pots will make adjustments more refined? No 100K pots will be no more refined than 10K for instance. Pots connected this way are just a potential divider, so 1/2 way will measure 1/2 its total resistance across wiper and outer connected so 1/2 Vcc will be at ...

Re: Flowcode 5-Shadow Detect Program

I was hoping to do the programming via my PICkit2 programmer and low pin count board then remove the PIC and insert it into the circuit and start to figure the program out. It's fine you can program the chip like that and then move it. I only suggested ICSP so you can program and reprogram without ...

Re: Servo Control

HI

Double click the move=move to position macro icon, add a number to the position box. resimulate then change the delay and simulate again
when done add another macro to return home, but use a different delay, just another way to move a servo with adjustable timing

HI
goto view and select chip view that should bring the chip back
can you post your flowchart.fcf flowchart C and flowchart.msg.txt files as someone can look over it to see if theres an issue

Re: Problem programming Chip

Compile to chip also says its good. But...................................the LEDs do not flash at all!!! Have you set the chip configuration? (Project options, TAB 'General Options' use button 'Configure chip') You need to set at least 'Watchdog timer' to 'OFF'. Depending on your circuit you might...

Re: Problem programming Chip

The PICkit2 programmer requires different firmware for different chips. This is not a flowcode issue, it has to do with the programmer you're using. When using PICkit2 I prefer to use it in combination with MPlab IDE 8.xx. This work flow requires a few more steps because flowcode is not calling the ...

Hi
Looks like you need to upgrade your pickits firmware, chapter 4 in your pickit user guide details how to do it,
so upgrade the firmware, try programming again after and let us know how it goes

Re: Problem programming Chip

hi you determine the clock speed according to the xtal you are using, you also need to match the speed to the config settings. I have also just downloaded the manual for the demo board and the leds appear to be connected to port C so try changing A0 to C0 and A1 to C1 Let us know how you get on Rega...

Hi JDR04, If you post the flowchart your now using, then I can take a look at it for you and make adjustments if necessary.

Martin

Edit: I have posted a program for you to try.
You must make sure JP1 And JP2 are connected.

Hi.
dazz wrote: i set the clock speed to 8Mhz,

dazz wrote: i disabled your c code block

Only thing is the clock speed should be set to 4MHz with no c code block setting osccon value.
Since 4MHz is default clock speed on reset.

Re: Problem programming Chip

HI jdr
I just let flowcode handle the config, the hex was compiled in flowcode, in build options i set the clock speed to 8Mhz, then in the config tab i set power up timer to on, osc selection to internal no clock. and i disabled your c code block

the flowchart is attached

Re: Problem programming Chip

It could be that hex is assigned and your settings are set as default which hide know file extension types. You will need to browse to correct directory with your programmer and load hex file from that. To show the .hex extension Click start, computer. Click organize, Folder and search options, View...
