Re: Which Programmer?

Hi John, Really sorry to hear you are bed bound for a long time from the 24th. I wish you a very speedy recovery I have PICkit 2,3, & 4, mickroProg & Presto Asix programmers. From my own personal experience I'm not keen on PICkit range. With V4 it hold s the chip in reset (even though releas...

Re: Which Programmer?

Hi John, can you suggest a board to plug into the Mikroprog that will enable me to swap out different PIC controllers. The only one I can think of is this one , not cheap. Perhaps you source acheaper version or use breadboard? Have you thought about Matrix Eblocks 2 range? The BL0011 for example, in...

Re: Which Programmer?

opps, Sorry link for easypic v7 has now been corrected. What do you think about using this board to program different PIC's with the mikrioprog? I have never used it so can't personally vouch for it, sorry. It does look good and should give you plenty to do, but its your call. Here is the manual for...

Re: Pickit 2 and Flowcode 5

Hi John, You do not have to change the configuration settings withing mikroProg Suite. They will automatically transfer from Flowcode. The only thing your fcf file will show me is the osc speed and configuration settings. It will not show your compiler setting as that is personal to your setup and i...

Re: Pickit 2 and Flowcode 5

Hi John, There is nothing within your flowchart I can look at that will help. Reason being we need to deal with programmer settings. As you have started form fresh, I'm assuming the programmer settings are pointing to C:\Program Files (x86)\Flowcode\v5\Tools\PPP\PPPv3.exe . So it's looking for EB006...

Re: Mikroprog suite for pic-Wrong PIC Recogonised?

Hi John, 12F508 is the default device if communications fail. I have a 12F683 connected and will deliberately set target deceive for the wrong device e.f 12F1840. Select Read will all connections correct: Device connected correctly.png Now will remove wire from programmer PGC to target device and cl...

Re: Mikroprog suite for pic-Wrong PIC Recogonised?

You're welcome John.
I guess it would have been less misleading if error pops up with 'Error - Unable to establish communication's'
Rather than 'Device Detected - 12F508'
But it is what it is.

Re: Which setting? Bytes,Integers, voltages etc etc

Hello, Read as byte returns an 8-bit value in the range 0-255. Useful if you are using limited RAM or want high speed calculations on the value. Read as int returns a 10-bit (0-1023) or 12-bit (0-4095) reading based on the capabilities of your device. This uses a bit more RAM but has much higher res...

Re: Which setting? Bytes,Integers, voltages etc etc

Hi, Your program is going to work, yes, but you now need to think about hardware. The simplest solution is to use the thermistor in series with another fixed resistor to form a potential divider for the ADC input. The voltage will be non-linear with respect to the temperature, so you need to look up...
