Re: Compatible with WINDOWS 8.1

Hello,

It doesnt make too much of a difference, with Windows 8 there is a very quick one off fix to install teh drivers, once they are installed you do not need to do anything and can run normally.

Re: Compatible with WINDOWS 8.1

Hello, We currently have not done any Windows 10 testing but it is on the plan once Win10 is near completion and we are not aware of any immediate problems. Some early Win10 testers reported that a key component of our licensing system no longer works but this problems seems to have been resolved now.

Re: Calculation Function?

Hi John, lightlevel = 0 only sets the variable lightlevel to 0 This is not necessary in the flowchart you have posted. Reason being ADC component is setting the variable before it's read by decision branch. If it was the other way round e.g a decision branch before ADC then you must have the lightle...

Re: Servo Motor Program

Hi John, When doing the circuit, does the control wire of the servo have to connect to one of the CCP pins?Is this the same for stepper motors? No, you can connect servo or stepper to any pin that is not input only. You just right click on the servo/stepper that's on the panel and choose connections.

Re: CCP Modules and PICS

Hi John, What about 16F76x 16F61x 16F62x? It's not just about CCP channels. You could find there are not enough pins, or memory or other features. If it was me I would create my flowchart, compile with the bigger devices and see how much memory it took and pins required. Then I would source a microc...

Re: Servo Program Settings

Hi John. Using INTRC as clock out just means port the clock frequency is present on RA6. If you wish to use RA6 as I/O pin at some point, then just select INRC as port I/O I believe the default internal clock frequency is 31.25KHz. So you will need to add to the very start of main a C code block with...

Re: Servo Program Settings

Connect an external power supply to Vdd and Vss pins. Connect PICkit2 Vdd with 100 Ohm resistor to Vdd pin. Make sure to set PICkit2 not to supply voltage to the circuit/chip, the command line in your screen shot sets PICkit2 to supply 5 volts (-A5 argument).

Re: Servo Program Settings

Hi John, I get a confirmation of the programmer connected OK but no chip is found I can't see on your picture connection from pin 1 of programmer to pin 1 of target device. Since in the config settings MCLR is disabled, you can connect pin 1 of programmer directly to pin one of target, with nothing ...

Re: Servo Program Settings

Hi John, Can you tell us how your hardware is setup to get the configuration right? What crystal speed are you using? Are you using a crystal? Do you need the MCLR pin as a reset pin or a digital input? Do you need the chip to brown out (reset) to avoid potential dodgy operation when the power suppl...

Re: Servo Program Settings

Hi John, Sounds to me like flowcode is unable to directly communicate with PICkit programmer. When it does and programs target device you should see: http://www.matrixtsl.com/mmforums/viewtopic.php?f=54&t=14442&p=57422&#p57993 If you go to where you flowchart is stored/compiled and post ...

Re: Servo Program Settings

Hi John,
Can you rename your Flowchart removing the - and try again.
E.g try renaming to ICSP 767 LED Flash Test
or ICSP_767_LED_Flash_Test
Or just something much more basic and less characters.

I don't think pickit2 likes the file name

Re: Servo Program Settings

HI John, In the mean time here is the message I get when the programming doent happen. It says that the hex file was not tranfered etc. I saw that message as its contained within ICSP -767 LED Flash Test.msg.txt you posted. That's why I have said about the file name. I don't believe its the antiviru...

Re: Servo Program Settings

Did you add the c code block

Code: Select all

osccon=0x60;
at the very start?
If LED stays lit your clock could be running very slowly indeed!
Perhaps if you post the flowchart your are using and the hex file I can take a look for you

Re: Servo Program Settings

Hi John, The only issue is you have the clock speed left on the default 19660800Hz when is should have been set to 4000000Hz since osccon=0x60; forces internal clock to run at 4000000Hz The only difference it should make is LED flashes every 4 seconds instead of ever second. But instead of setting t...

Re: Easy Driver Interfacing with 16F767

Hello, I think I use the easy driver boards on my CNC machine. They should just have two inputs from the microcontroller, one for step and the other for direction. I think for mine I get something like 2048 steps per revolution so I have to toggle the step pin on and off 2048 times for one complete ...

Re: Easy Driver Interfacing with 16F767

Hello, You can use any I/O pins for the step and direction inputs. Then just use an output icon to set the state of the direction pin and to toggle the step pin on and off. The easy driver won't work with the stepper motor component as is as this expects to drive the stepper signals directly using a...

Hi John

this flow chart used to control the intensity of a block of LED of 12 volt, I think you could also work for an motor, you must first enable the PWM option

Re: Calculation Symbol

This looks like a question that can use some context. In you diagram the line simply means the variable duty is multiplied by 53 and then divided by 100. (Which will not yield the result you expect because the multiplication overflows the byte [0-255 value range] variable (5 * 53 = 265 which results...

You could see if this works?

Re: Calculation Symbol

Hi John, Since a byte is maximum value is 255, then: 255 + 1 = 0 Another example: 255+ 5 = 4 etc. Also 0 - 1 = 255 That's why the result of a byte can't be greater than 255. If it is, then unexpected results will be seen. So Jac is correct but only if /100 was not used after. You can have intermitte...

Thanks for letting us know.
So you changed all the Program Files to Program Files (x86) within programmer settings as well?
Strange how there is a mixture, unless you manually copied and paste settings?
