Hi I'm posting the following here as it's the most visited within the forums - its an old article from a blog dated 2010. http://www.bunniestudios.com/blog/?p=918 As I feel we are a comminity who use/will use Flowcode and associated hardware one of which is SD cards - this could help someone save ho...

Labels

Hi FC7 (free) Not sure it this is an actual bug or by design - when I connect up some panel LEDS the a label just above the component appears which displays the port and pin number - (VERY USEFUL by the way!!). Now, I've put two switches and two solenoids on the dashboard but no label is displayed (...

Re: FC7 free limitations

HI I don't want to 'develop' applications at home (yet) I'm trying to learn FC and on a limited budget - how can I justify hundreds of pounds without knowing if it's something you'll use / are able to use. Surely a better way would be a) Inhibit programming b) Limit compiled programme size (you can ...

Re: FC7 free limitations

Actually From https://www.matrixtsl.com/flowcode/ FREE version A free version of Flowcode is available which is excellent for learning programming, developing applications at home or for prototyping designs. With no obligation or time limit, this free version can be used to do some really useful pro...

Just a quick question

Can the XC compiler in FC be updated by downloading the newer version from Microchip and over installing?

FC7 Programme Crash

Hi,

I've right clicked on the 'Begin' icon at the start of a the code and FC crashed immediately - I've lost everything up to my last save.

Perhaps an autosave feature might be worth looking into :-(

Hey do we get a discount for identifying the bugs...cough....cough...wink...wink LOL

cheers

Re: External Pulses to Pins - Simulation

Hi Benj

Thank you you that works a treat :-)

Could you please explain what's going on is the 'Main' routine the actual program or a basic snippet to demonstrate the simulation?

Just a quick follow up question

How did you sort those external components - was it within FC ? if so how

Thanks

Re: Help on a circuit

Hi QMESAR, I completely concur with Steve's advice concerning the use of an Opto Isolator and emergency fail safe procedure. The use of an Opto Isolator what be beneficial when monitoring 'outside' voltages as Steve said but also to completely isolate the micro-controller pin from the outside world....

Re: 8bit Multiplication of 16bit values

Hi Jay,

Have you set your 'answer' variable to Long or Ulong?

Tested with 'PrintFormattedNumber' on a LCD display

Feature Request Voting

Hi

As Subject really! We all have bespoke little things we would like to be sorted out but would be useful to wider users. Therefore why not add a voting section so that you can differentiate whims from a real wider user base requirement (bad english but you know what I'm trying to say :D )

LCD Custom Characters - A Tutorial

HI Recently I've needed to produce a couple of custom characters for an HD44780 16x2 LCD based display and found the process rather painful, so I thought I'd knock up a quick tutorial on how I eventually achieved my goal. Whilst the actual connections and pin spacings on this Shield are configured f...

Re: Wiping old Code

Hi Leigh, Thanks for the reply. Solved - I have just realised that I had an unseen component (ADC Pot) on the dashboard from a deleted macro (and Component Macro) To give you some feedback, I am using an LCD display with 5 buttons connected to an analogue line. I had assigned a variable for a Pot an...

Re: PROGRAM SETUP

Hi Bob, Learnt something new about ADC and FC after Bens answer!! I'm still struggling to try and learn FC so please take what I'm going to say with a pinch of salt!! If I where going to read and write to the same Port in FC I would look into using the masking functions within the relevant dialogue ...

Re: 4Dsystem 1.7' uOLED-160G2 OLED communication issue

Hi Quazar, I cant answer your question directly but perhaps I can offer a different direction/thought path for you to accomplish your desired result. I am looking at 4D systems at the moment, the intelligent displays seem to tick many boxes and if you trawl through the application notes http://www.4...

Re: Rugby Atomic Clock Module

As for the GSM module... Once you have an active SIM card the GSM module will lock to the network time....some modules have a parameter that you can set via AT command, others are automatic lock.... So once the GSM module is locked you can read the time from the module via an AT command ...it does ...

Hi Allen, Slightly off topic but I used a generic 2x16 Hitachi based 44780 on an Arduino ( http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/16x2-lcd-shield-for-arduino-n07dh ) I actually did a custom font tutorial based on the 44780 (search the tips section). You could follow the steps to get the display working before ap...

Re: WS2812B first project

Hi Dutch, Not wanting to put words in Ben's mouth but I think he was suggesting a way for you to try and not an offer to write a macro. Re: MIAC-RC LawnMower

Comparing them with the wires connected to the white terminals block, which I am presuming are connected to either the motor controllers or motors themselves, they look half the size. Have y...

Re: ECIO40P16 Question

Hi Ben,

I've been playing around with an Arduino Uno and found the clock drift could be a pain over a long period of time, the resonator fluctuated around +-1000ppm temperature dependant whereas a crystal is around +-50-100ppm. (generally)

Re: LDR (Light Dependent Resistor

Hi Frank, I've just quickly gone over your post and if I understand you correctly you wish to have a variable rate PWM output based on the light level via an LDR. Whilst this is an easy task especially with Flowcode it is easy to get caught up in the details of your project and come unstuck. So I pr...

Re: Do you make use of Ghost features?

Hi David, I think an EB006 type board should be made available to all processor families you support with full Ghost compatibility without having to buy a pack to gain access to its features. I feel this goes towards one of the unique selling point of FC. It seems other than for 8bit PIC processors ...

Re: What improvements would you like to see?

David, Further to my other posts in reply to your question, and a reply to Steve about connection points, I'm going to reiterate two major bug bears of mine 1) Lack of a GOOD help within the program for every option available - I still do not know how to FULLY use FC 2) Make the 3D simulation enviro...
