Re: Component Variable ICON list

Hi

The letters b /B / Z etc refer to the type of variable etc. If you "add new" variable you will get a list of available types (Integer / Byte etc).

Boolean = b
Byte = B
Integer = Z
Unit = Z+
Long = L
Ulong = L+
String = S
Floating Point = R
Object Handle = H

Hope this helps,
Regards

Re: Component Variable ICON list

Hi Whilst I didn't find any reference either, I'm sure you have looked at https://www.matrixtsl.com/wiki/index.php?title=Variable_Types which explains in detail each type. You could "prove" the meaning of each symbol by simply creating a variable and viewing variables in Project Explorer. ...

Re: Safe biometrics authentication

Hi How long is a piece of string? That's a popular saying especially when discussing security related matters. What level of "threat" is faced is a good way to start then everything after is a balancing act between security and convenience. I want to secure a room so I build it and don't p...

Re: MS Excel to something Flowcode understands..

Hi

There are online tools for what you require such as http://excelformulabeautifier.com/ (or similar) that allow you to paste your formula and cut the conversion.

Hope this may help.

Re: RS-232 Data bit option ?

Hi I assume you are using the OP-04 serial option? I quickly grabbed a manual for the AD4325A online and in section H it clearly shows that it transmits a start bit followed by seven data bits, a parity bit then a stop bit much as Leigh suspected. Assuming you have your baud set correctly and data s...

Re: RS-232 Data bit option ?

Hi OK if you can see the correct string on the PC it sounds like perhaps a setting or something simple is incorrect with your circuit. What microcontroller are you using? Is the clock source set correctly? Very easy to overlook and we have all done it (and most likely will again). You could try this...

Re: RS-232 Data bit option ?

Hi

What is it you are trying to do? Do you really need to manipulate bits or could the UART do a lot of the work for you?

Re: UART: "Send in succession"

Hi I'm not familiar with Arduino so can't comment much on it. Usually "in succession" means that whatever you send is sent as a complete message. On page 13 of the instruction manual it gives a couple of examples (isn't Chinglish a wonderful language?) and it appears that the space is used...

Re: UART: "Send in succession"

Hi Just got back but off again tomorrow. Looking at your program the UART settings seem good but I think the problem may lie in how you are sending C3 etc. You are using the command SendNumber which sends your value as a string of digits. So you sending C3/195 sends out the value 0x31/49, 0x39/57 th...

Re: 3 Digit 7 Segiment quad Display 0-55v Voltimeter

Hi Further to my last post I notice that you had IntADC set as a Byte which gives a range of values between 0 and 255, and when reading the ADC you were using GetAverageByte. This means that you could only ever obtain 255 as the maximum value of your potentiometer thus limiting the maximum voltage t...

Re: RS-232 Data bit option ?

Hi

Happy to hear you have solved your problem.

I am not a C-programmer either which is one of the reasons FC is great, and by using the C-Code Icon and the knowledge base I have greatly increased my understanding over the years.

Re: Again LORA datasheet E32-868-T20D

Hi I'm very keen to hear about your progress with these modules and will probably obtain a couple for myself to have a play once I get back. I trust that you can now send and receive status requests and can confirm the setup of each module by issuing the appropriate command. Could you post the confi...

Re: How to send GSM international phone code?

Hi I haven't used the GSM component so I am not best placed to answer but one thing you could try is using 00 instead of "+". I know the "+" is supposed to be universal but it is worth trying 0044 or 0031. ITU has specified 00 as international access but not all countries have ad...

Re: UART string variable question (quick question)

Hi Following on from previous posts I assume you are using the E32 LoRa modules and an Arduino. I don't yet use an Arduino (but have just acquired a Nano) so I can't help with anything chip specific, therefore I just set up using a PIC. LoRa set up as broadcast (default values) and a String variable...

Re: UART string variable question (quick question)

Hi I would strongly be tempted to use the RxInt Interrupt feature when capturing data. That way you ensure the uC will be ready to process when data is actually received at the UART. If you also couple this with the Circular Buffer you are free to process your incoming stream whenever you wish. Ther...

Re: UART "Timeout" parameter question

Re: How to send GSM international phone code?

Hi I haven't played with the GSM component so I'm perhaps not best placed to answer. I have however found that a colleague has a similar module to the EB board so maybe I will steal that when he isn't looking :) I can think of two possible reasons and I stress that both could be completely wrong, bu...

Hi

Looking at your program and configuration I see that you have Clock Out = Enabled.
This will output a clock on Port RA6. Try Disabling this in config.

I can confirm the patch does nothing if you already have 8.2.0.12 already.

I haven't yet downloaded latest version but probably will this weekend as per how Martin did it.

Re: Interrupts

Hi I've had a quick look at your program. First thing is that I see you have the Interrupt Enable within what is in effect your main loop. The Interrupt Enable generally is called before the Main Loop however that is not your issue. Instead I think it is possibly due to switch bounce. When a switch ...

Re: Multiple interupts at a time: good idea or not?

Hi Sadik

I travel a lot but so looking forward to experimenting with this. Never having a real "need for speed" the issue of Int Osc has never came up in my snail paced world.

I will update the post with the results of my tinkering :)

Might be a week or two though.
