Re: Wacth

Before you change crystal, try this version. The problem you had with your Flowchart is you 1st check to see if seconds = 60, then if not the seconds are incremented by 1. So if seconds = 59 then 1 is added to the second. This means that each minute is incremented every 61 seconds and not every 60 s...

Re: Multiplying or dividing large numbers

From experience using integers any intermediate or final results of calculations must never exceed 32767.
If it does then results will be wrong. The simulator does not take this fact into account.

Re: Multiplying or dividing large numbers

Attached is how I would convert signed numbers into unsigned numbers. Its very simple and does not use C Since it uses int, it will only convert numbers down to -32768 There maybe a simple method using C e.g using unsigned short, but that's not my area of expertise. Hope this is what your afte...

Re: battery meter

Hi, siliconchip. You will need to bear in mind that if you Want to read 6V then the supply to chip (VDD) must also be 6V. If you are using 5Vto supply the chip then you must use a potential divider to tap off from the voltage to be measured. E.g how I would do it (prob not the best way!) is 1st dete...

Hi Jgu1, In my opinion Your answer was more than OK, it's spot on! That's why I edited my post, It looked like I was just copying you  It's great when there is more than one answer from people on this forum. If I was stuck, I would rather see more than one reply, even if they were similar, than...

If you Click on the 'variable Name' Wording, it will sort the variables out in alphabetical order. a- z. If you click on the 'variable Name' Wording again, it will sort variables out in reverse alphabetical order. z- a

Re: EB008 Quad 7 Segment Display Board examples

Hi Steve, There are two things you can try. 1) In view, Global options, set the overriding language to English. 2) If That don't work then download the full install of latest version (V4.3.7.63), as the update patch I believe had a bug. Alternately you could post the flowchart you are experiencing p...

Re: Driving Piezo with PIC

I was trying to change the output pins from port A 1&2 to port B 6&7 (piezo outputs) and I found it difficult than I thought. can you help please. thanks Indana Just change from 2 portA to 64 PortB and 4 PortA to 128 Port B. Don't forget to change 0 PortA to 0 PortB Finally you have to chan...

Re: Driving Piezo with PIC

Hi Indana, Lets take the 64 1st If you have 128 64 32 16 8 4 2 1 In Binary 64 (Decimal) = 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 You can see bit under the 64 is high(1) all the rest are low(0) Going from the far right bit = Least Significant Bit or LSB = bit 0 (there are eight bits in total), the high bit is bit 6 If you ...

Re: Controlling a Servomotor with timer0 interrupt.

Ah sorry I must of miss read your post. Same applies the simulator. LCD works fine, if configuration was internal OSC or not. I don't think the simulator uses the configuration settings within the hex file anyway. However to find that it does not matter for real hardware if internal or HS is selecte...

Re: somthing gone wrong but don't know what

I did state some things that could cause that type of communications issue here:
viewtopic.php?f=29&t=7821&p=20917#p20917
Have you tried just unplugging and re-plugging in USB lead to programmer?

Re: Controlling a Servomotor with timer0 interrupt.

Hi Andreas , That's a good question. Reason that's a good question is because I have added a comment in the timer0 routine within the flowchart how the 10KHz = 0.1 ms is produced, but left that out of tutorial: Timer0 Comments.jpg I have place several comments within the flowchart. Yes I have fully ...

Re: Controlling a Servomotor with timer0 interrupt.

I have modified flowchart (by altering formula) to allow keypad entry for direct degrees
So 180 on entered on keypad should cause servo to rotate 180 deg, 090 on keypad = 90deg ect.
I’m unable to test myself yet, so can’t guarantee will work.

Re: Motor Control Using PWM

Very interesting article John. Thanks for sharing! Not all motors will work with the lower values. In fact at this point in the development, I’m using a pair of old PC processor fans, and these don’t start with anything less than about 50% Duty Cycle, though once running they can be slowed to about ...

Autogenerate missing variables.

Would it be possible if copying calculation boxes or components from one flowchart to another for variables not yet created, to be created on the new flowchart. Perhaps there is be a pop-up stating create missing variable’s Yes/No I have noticed with current Flowcode, if coping a calculation box wit...

Re: Rotory Encoder and PIC

 I've had an idea, but don't know if it will work or not. :?: I know it wont work in flowcode simulator because the simulator can't simulate T0CKI pin. The simulator behaves as though clock source is selected. All you need to do is connect RA4 to 1 I/P of encoder, and the other 90 deg I/P conn...

I have altered Flowchart so this version should work, whereas I don’t think the one on my post above post will work that well.

Glad you found your own solution. It just proves how well your getting to know Flowcode.

I have modified your Flowchart to count up in the alphabet instead of numbers.

Re: Using the FlowKit ICD Tool

1st you don't require Flowkit for Eb006 V7. Flowkit is only required for Eb006 V6 or any other programmer that's not Eb006 V7. So long as all config and osc settings are correct and the chip has been programmed with the flowchart you are using and the * does not appear on the top line of your flowch...

Re: Different results using EB006 and my other burner with s

When I burn the same 12F629 chip with my EB006 I get a different result? Specifically bit 4 does not seem to work? Werner Have you got EB006 V6 or V7? If I could be wrong as not tried with 8 pin device, connecting bit 4 to port. With V6 you cannot use bit4 since that is part of the osc, and connect...

Re: Digital Compass

Hi John. I agree, what a great project!
I have just added a bit extra to your Flowchart
So now, not only will LCD display angle, but will also display direction e.g N, NNW,SE etc.
Would you mind testing to see if it shows correct direction when compared with a compass please?

Timer0 and obtaining desired interrupt frequency/delay.

As you may be aware, it is not easy obtaining desired interrupt frequency as there a few factors involved main one being target oscillator frequency. In this example I am using EB006 programming board, EB005 LCD Eblock and EB003 Sensor board Eblock. I would like to set timer0 interrupt so it trigger...
