Re: Paid for Arduino boards but none are found in FC8

why Arduino is separated from AVR and do I need to buy both: AVR and Arduino. A lot of customers have come from Arduino IDE and they only ever want to use Arduino hardware, in v7 the Arduino chips were part of the AVR chip pack and were pretty much hidden away and hard to find. As we wanted to make...

Re: ssd1306 text problems (circle-OK)

Hello,

This is a problem that I believe has already been fixed. Please use the Help -> Check for updates feature and this should provide you with a new LUT component that should solve the problem for you.

Let us know how you get on.

Re: 9250: Acc->OK, Gyro->OK, Magnet=Error

I would guess it is getting stuck in the until flag_magnet_update =1 loop in the Magnet macro - so no new data is arriving, if new data is received then the "no new data" message can never be reached (the flag will always = 1) - you could add a loop counter and give up testing after a spec...

Re: 9250: Acc->OK, Gyro->OK, Magnet=Error

Thanks for letting me know.

I have had another go at the component source and for me it is now working correctly.

I've pushed the new component to the update system now so you should be able to check for updates and get the new version.

Let me know how you get on.

Re: 9250 magnetometer calibration question

Hello, Many thanks for letting us know of the issues. I have now added a new macro called ReadCompassCalibration which should allow you to read the mX, mY and mZ values. It may be we could do the calibration for you when reading the compass values to make the component easier to work with. I've also...

Re: CJMCU-75 temp module question

Hello, I cannot say 100% as the module has a LM75A instead of the LM75B but it looks like it should be compatible and work correctly. Currently the address should be: A0 = VCC A1 = GND A2 = GND Taken from this line of the C code. FCR_RETVAL = FC_CAL_I2C_Transaction_Init_1(0x49); Inside the Initialis...

Re: CJMCU-75 temp module question

Hi I used the code from the post of medelec35 » Wed Sep 16, 2015 (for DS18B20) - Read Celsius as Int - Celsius = Celsius * 49 / 10 - CelsiusString = ToString$ (Celsius) - Length = Length$ (CelsiusString) - TempString = Left$ (CelsiusString,Length - 1) However the readings are wrong. Why did you use ...

Re: CJMCU-75 temp module question

Hi,
Yes The flowchart now looks correct.
You have got TempInt >125 instead of TempInt <0
It would be better if corrections are on a new post.
Does it work now?

Re: Mega2560 Tx/Rx problem (as Modbus Master)

Hello,

This seems strange. Can you confirm that the Mega is running correctly e.g. the display is working. Also can you confirm that the UART TX and RS485 Data Direction pin are outputting values?

I'll have a dig and see if we have a Mega board available in the office still.

Re: Please help with modbus addressing

Hello, With multiple slaves connected to a single master you need to use something like RS485 to allow the multiple devices to communicate back to the master without colliding with each other. RS485 converter modules are readily available and some of the newer ones feature automatic RX/TX switching ...

Re: Please help with modbus addressing

Hello, Does Master create some kind of a map of slaves/nodes addresses for itself? And if it does, does this map should not exceed the slave's registers numbers? No the Master has no map or clever storage. It just uses the Slave Address and then the coil/register address to access information on a s...

Re: Help with modbus addressing-Solved

Hi Viktor Modbus is perfectly at home in an electrically noisy environment I would loop in and out of each slave (maybe start at the top) depends if you going to add more sensors and which end you will add them. Start configurations don't work very well and may not even work at all if you wire at th...

Re: LM75b address question

hi Viktor,

You have the wrong address - Should be 1001abc (not 10010abc) - So 72 to 79 are possible addresses (note that FC sometimes expects the shifted value - so 2 x this but will always be even)

Re: HMC5883 Self-Test question

Hello, Can you post your program, I think I can see what you have done wrong but need to see the program to be sure. Is it a good idea to save the magnetometer readings in one go to an array or read one data register after another? All at once is faster and therefore probably the recommended option....

Re: HMC5883 Self-Test question

Ok you were only reading a single register before and storing into XYZ[5].

I've changed this so now you read all 6 registers and store into XYZ[0]-[5].

Re: Chinese wind YGC-FX and YGC-FS modbus id question

Hello,

No problems I'm aware of but would be interested to know how you get on with them if you have a go.

Wind speed is something I'm interested in as I'm considering building a micro wind turbine, send us a link if you find a good product.

Re: Chinese YGC-FX and YGC-FS modbus Node ID question

Hello, Changing the device address is something only the manufacturer will be able to describe how to do. It may be set via jumpers or set via modbus commands or may not even be possible. For modbus MSB is first and the CRC is automatically calculated for you. Looks like you would perform a ReadInpu...

Re: Byte in HEX format

Yes. The values 0x26 or 38 are just representations of the number in base 16 or base 10. The number is held as 8,16 or 32 bits binary (base 2) and just converted to a readable form when displayed or converted to a string. Numbers are also converted to the machine form by the compiler... What number ...
