Re: More advanced LCD Four Digit Door Lock.

No problem Dan, Not sure how good it is, but I did an alarm system with enable/disable different zones. See: http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/mmforums/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=6583 This was created in 2009 so It may not be that good? Here is burgler another alarm http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/mmfor...

Re: More advanced LCD Four Digit Door Lock.

Hi Derrihj,
That sounds like it's hardware related to the keypad.
Have you included the resistors as shown in the Keypad datasheet?
Also check continuity between keypad and microcontroller and the connections within flowchart match hardware.

Can you post the full circuit if still facing issues?

Re: Custom Character On 4 Digit 7 Segiment Quad Display

Hello, Aha sorry I thought the functionality was already there but it was only there for some of the 7-seg components. I've now added the functionality to the Single 7-seg the Quad 7-seg and also the EBL083 and BL0114 combo board components which feature the Quad 7-seg. All these updates should now ...

Re: 3 Digit 7 Segiment quad Display 0-55v Voltimeter

Hi Further to my last post I notice that you had IntADC set as a Byte which gives a range of values between 0 and 255, and when reading the ADC you were using GetAverageByte. This means that you could only ever obtain 255 as the maximum value of your potentiometer thus limiting the maximum voltage t...

Re: Zero Crossing

Hi Derrihj, The circuit I have is for FET controlling of a 230V AC motor. Motor runs far quieter than if controlled via a triac. I will see if I can adapt the circuit for the much lower voltage of the light bulb. I have just looked at your Flowchart. It looks like it should work with the Bridge and ...

Re: Increase/Decrease a variable Value on a press of a button

When the temp goes from >= 10 to below 10 the second digit isn't cleared on the display.

So 10 -> 9 will display 90 which looks incorrect...

Re: Increase/Decrease a variable Value on a press of a button

Hi Derrihj,
Marin is correct in what he says.
I have modified your flowchart and removed the string as its not required

Re: Increase/Decrease a variable Value on a press of a button

Hi Derrihj,
Mine is not printing floating point, its printing bytes (0 to 255).
If you have a floating point, you can convert it to string (FloatToString function), then print string.

Re: SCROLLING TEXT MANY TIMES ON LCD

Hi Derrihj I'm not in this forum too often so my reply may be too late. Whilst Matrix staff provide excellent support it is a little unrealistic to expect them to modify your flowcode for you. Instead they point you in the direction of help and they and other forum members are usually very happy to ...

Re: Heart beat Pulse measurement.

Personally, If it was me, I would go ahead and purchase hardware as the Flowcode side will be fairly easy to implement. For example I would use an interrupt to time for 250mS. Then use the digital output and count the pulses using INT interrupt. Then after 250ms timer interrupt has elapsed, times co...

Re: Heart beat Pulse measurement.

i would like to learn why do you use Rollover Value as 250 and not 255. With interrupts the rollover value forces the interrupt register to rollover when it reaches the set value, thus causing the interrupt to be triggered. The rollover, Prescaller & Postscaller rates are specifically chosen to...

Re: Real time Hourly Device Control

Hi Derrih, is it advisable to use internal oscillator while designing a real time clock? No, internal oscillator is not suitable. Lets do some calculations to prove this. Suppose internal osc has a tolerance of 1%. Since there are 86400 seconds in a day. The maximum error is 86400*1/100 = 864 secs =...

Re: Real time Hourly Device Control

another thing PIC16f886 has no PLL but what u are trying to say that PLL would solve the problem sothat i dont have to switch to external oscillator? No not at all the PLL is only as accurate as the clock. So if chip did have PLL and using 8MHz internal clock at 1% tolerance, then if use PLL the cl...

Re: Real time Hourly Device Control

Hello, I see some circuits with an external crystal oscillator with its body grounded whats the point in that does it do any good in stability? Whats so important in doing that? Maybe only partially to do with electrical shielding and probably more to stop the high frequency from being radiated out ...

Re: Real time Hourly Device Control

Hello, The baud rate for DS3231 here should be set to what 100KHz,400KHz or 1MHz for the Ds3231 to work perfectly? If you're not bothered about throughput then the slower you clock the I2C the more reliable and immune to noise it should be so for your application I would go for 100KHz. However readi...
