Re: dsPic/pic24

Currently, there are 3 variants - PICmicro (8bit), AVR and ARM. The dsPIC/PIC24 will be a fourth variant and will be priced in line with the other versions. It will also be subject tot he same cross-grade offers (i.e. if you have bought the current Flowcode V4 for PICmicro, then you can buy an equiv...

Re: GPS error in flowcode

This is a known problem with the GPS macros that return a "float" value. The best workaround I can suggest if you wish to simulate these programs is to put a breakpoint onto the float-returning macros. This way, the error messages will not appear constantly and you will get the opportunity...

Re: pic run out of space.

Hiya Wayne. 18F4620 should be compatible with 18F4520 and has 32K = double amount of 18F4520 . There will be others available with memory in-between the two, but you will need to check has all the features you require. Also if I was you before ordering the chip your interested in. select it in flowc...

Re: Macros

Hello,

There is currently example code available for these components available from here.
http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/eblock_datasheets.php

We are going to be releasing an update for Flowcode PIC shortly which should include the two new components.

Re: ECIO

Hello, I have tested your program using a 4K7 potentiometer as a voltage source. The temperature displayed on the LCD corresponds correctly with the input voltage across the full range: 0.3V - Temp = 30.00 5V - Temp = 499.2V I also used an EB-061 ECIO Base Board to ensure that the port connections w...

Re: MMC Eblock, only with MMC or also with SD?

Hello, Ok thanks for getting back with the info, 255 - is the no card error so this is working ok. 254 - is the no response from card error. This is the routine for trying to get the card to respond, there are 512 attempts to start-up the card before the routine bails out. //Command 1 - Send Operati...

Re: PC to PIC communication: Part 1

Okay so I got it to work on my brother's 64-bit Windows 7 PC. Here's how I did it: - Copy mscomm32.ocx into C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ (instead of system32) - Execute the next command : "regsvr32 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\mscomm32.ocx" That's it ;). EDIT : I added how you'd install mscomm32.ocx on a 6...

Re: Servo Test Program

Hi John, the statement means if x=1 OR if x=255 then move into the YES part of the decision, this could have also been done with a switch statement as well. If you already knew this and just wanted to know why the test program did this, my apologies, i would imagine since the range of the servo posi...

To help you are are two different ways you can convert from byte to integer and vice-versa IntValue = ByteLow+(ByteHigh << 8) ByteLow = IntValue & 0xFF ByteHigh = (IntValue >> 8) & 0xFF IntValue = ByteLow+(ByteHigh * 256) ByteHigh = (IntValue/ 256) ByteLow = IntValue - ByteHigh* 256 Not trie...

Hello John, Nice work, very interesting application. I made a similar program some time ago and therefore I would like to ask you 2 questions on this. 1) Did you already tried to log your data over a prolongued period of time ( lets say 2 day's ?) In the beginning I also used the "append to fil...

Re: MM Bundles & VB2008

Hello, The problem seems to be caused by upgrading a project from VB6 to VB2008. Most if not all of our VB examples are then based on this upgraded code. The file you are looking for is called UpgradeSupport.vb. Simply delete the contents of the file or remove the file from your project and the erro...

Re: Floating point

Hello all, Just had a thought and if anyone needs to have multiple precisions on the floating point string output then this should work. Change the line in the internals file to this. Precision = FCV_PRECISION; and then in your Flowcode program make a byte variable named precision. Load this variabl...

Re: LCD On PortA ?

It depends on the target device you are using. E.g LCD will not work connected to portA with 16F88. This is because RA5 is input only. Whereas with 16F877A RA0 - RA5 are bidirectional. Although RA4 is open drain, all lines of LCD except Enable (RA5) have pull-ups. That's why LCD works on port A Nice...

However with a quiescen...

Variable Frequency Generator 500Hz to 5KHz (100 Hz Steps)

I have developed a simple Square wave frequency generator for Flowcode V4, which covers 500Hz to 5KHz in 100Hz steps with Frequency displayed on LCD. Also displayed is byte value of POT connected to RA0. I have used a 16F88 configured for 8MHz internal oscillator. This cuts down component count. You...

Re: GSM E Block

Hello,

Tharowat is correct that the GSM can be controlled by the RS232 component. However I am also happy to announce that we do have components for GSM and WIFI included in the upcoming v4 update.

The test program does use the keypad as a text input device eg 1 - A/B/C.

Re: GSM E Block

Hi JohnCrow
I think FC4 do all operations and instructions for the new product GSM e Block since any GSM depends only how to send AT commands to the module like RS232 and this is available in FC4

Square root SQRT

Please find an itteration process to calculate the square root of a variable. This general ittertaion process can be used for any function, see flowcode.

Or is there a faster/better method for the square root value?

Kind regards

Re: Controlling a Servomotor with timer0 interrupt.

Ah sorry I must of miss read your post. Same applies the simulator. LCD works fine, if configuration was internal OSC or not. I don't think the simulator uses the configuration settings within the hex file anyway. However to find that it does not matter for real hardware if internal or HS is selecte...
