Re: servo not working

Dear Archillis,

Try this flowcode with 1 msec pulses for 1 sec and 2 msec pulses for 1 sec etc. etc. The repetition frequency of the pulses is 50 Hz.

Kind regards

Re: how to erase PIC

Flowcode uses other programs to send programs to the PICmicro, for example PICkit2 or Matrix's PPP program. Both of these tools should automatically erase the chips before they are reprogrammed. Plus they can be run separately and have functions to read programs back and to erase the PICmicro.

Re: PC to PIC communication: Part 1

Okay so I got it to work on my brother's 64-bit Windows 7 PC. Here's how I did it: - Copy mscomm32.ocx into C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ (instead of system32) - Execute the next command : "regsvr32 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\mscomm32.ocx" That's it ;). EDIT : I added how you'd install mscomm32.ocx on a 6...

Re: USB pins

I wouldn't use the 19.6608 MHz crystal for wholesale products as it is out of tolerance for the device. E.g. it is not the 20MHz crystal specified and while it may work in one offs there may be problems with mass markets and slightly less tolerant USB host hardware. Yes all of our products are CE ap...

Re: string if statement

Hello Andreas, You can use the compare function in the string manipulation icon. test = Compare$(string, "33", 1) if the strings are equal then test will equal 0. Here is the Flowcode help file regarding the compare function. Compare$(string1, string2, compare_type) Compares the two string...

Re: 18f4550 options

Hello Andreas, Most of the devices are not available via the simple configuration screen so its normally a good idea to get to grips with the expert configuration screen. All of the configuration settings and values are detailed in the device datasheet so you can look here if there is anything you a...

PC to PIC communication: Part 2

Hi everyone, This is the second part of the article : PC to PIC communication In this article we'll see how to write on the LCD screen from the PC. In this article I'll talk about: - Some preparations first - Waiting for the start signal - Parsing the received commands - Executing commands received ...

Re: 18f4550 board

Hello,

Its just the LEDs. The anodes are connected to the supply voltage rail and the cathodes are connected to the uC pins. Therefore to switch the LED on you need to essentially pull the cathode pin to ground.

Re: Controlling a Servomotor with timer0 interrupt.

Hi Andreas , That's a good question. Reason that's a good question is because I have added a comment in the timer0 routine within the flowchart how the 10KHz = 0.1 ms is produced, but left that out of tutorial: Timer0 Comments.jpg I have place several comments within the flowchart. Yes I have fully ...

Re: Controlling a Servomotor with timer0 interrupt.

I have modified flowchart (by altering formula) to allow keypad entry for direct degrees
So 180 on entered on keypad should cause servo to rotate 180 deg, 090 on keypad = 90deg ect.
I’m unable to test myself yet, so can’t guarantee will work.

Re: PIC configuration

Hello,

The device can be changed by going to View -> Project options and changing the target device from the drop down menu. Once you have selected a device other then the hardware specific devices such as the ECIO the configure menu will become available again.

Re: which servo

Hello, I think the different Servo motors are like this. Analogue Servo - Standard servo device, works with Flowcode and E-blocks Digital Servo - Uses around a 10x faster input pulse, not currently compatible with Flowcode though the E-block itself is compatible. Robotic Servos - Have an inbuilt mic...

Timer0 and obtaining desired interrupt frequency/delay.

As you may be aware, it is not easy obtaining desired interrupt frequency as there a few factors involved main one being target oscillator frequency. In this example I am using EB006 programming board, EB005 LCD Eblock and EB003 Sensor board Eblock. I would like to set timer0 interrupt so it trigger...

Re: flowkit scope

You should line these marks up with the extrusions on the IDC cable and you should end up with everything connected through correctly. Connecting the incorrect way around will n...

Re: 18F4550 not working with servo/or other

My question is that with the specific fcf, the PIC uses the external crystal or the internal? If it is the external then why don't I have to set the clock speed in project options to 20Mhz but instead leave it at 48Mhz? I know that it is set at expert configuration window but what about the project...

Hello Andreas, Here are some brief answers to your questions, not really an expert on the subject. 1) RF parameter - Sounds like this might be the RF channel, A RF band can be split up into X channels each with 1:X of the band's bandwidth. PA - Preamp? The amount of amplification done to the signal ...

Re: VGA board

The EB-033 is a very simple no logic VGA connectivity board. In order to display information the controller needs to generate all the timing critical VGA color and sync signals. This is low-level programming compared to other e-blocks, you need to basically implement your own video card. Generating ...
