Hi Benj, Thankyou for your reply, yes I looked up the data sheet for the F88 and saw those pins had IOC but I needed 5 available but I am using RB6 for UART Tx so couldn't have used IOC after all.
I will use your info to see if I can get round the problem somehow.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
Ahhh - problem is that I want whichever switch is operated to take PIC out of sleep and so would want the IOC availability but I discover it isn't listed/available on the PIC16F88 - is there some way round this in 'custom' perhaps? I cant really start from scratch on the PCB and circuitry as it is a...

Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
Hi all, Although I personally am using Flowcode v4, I guess the question is not limited to v4 which is why I am posting this here. In the attachment below, I need to connect a battery (I don't want to use a switch), and after a few seconds of 'settling down' (say 20), the PIC goes into sleep mode (b...

Re: Further to: Chip works perfectly in simulation BUT .....
Also, might someone be able to indicate what the compiler functions should be or do a screen print of how it looks if the attachment on their computer is working ok - because something went wrong with some of the compiler information a long time ago and I think it was a known hic-up that could occur...

Re: Further to: Chip works perfectly in simulation BUT .....
Hi all, I wonder if Martin or someone could check how much CPU %age is being used for compiling to hex the attached chart. I have found that after much 'cleaning up and sorting out' of my computer, it now runs CPU at 4% to 8% ( as oppose to the 50% it WAS using as per my previous postings ) with not...

Re: Further to: Chip works perfectly in simulation BUT .....
Hi Leigh' Have tried both of those possibilities and no difference. I then went through the 'SERVICES' in Task Manager and 'stopped' anything unnecessary or looked as though it might contribute to the continuous 50% CPU useage but to no avail. I have just re-booted computer and it seemed to be ok ru...

Re: Further to: Chip works perfectly in simulation BUT .....
I note that the Windows Host Processes at 50% of CPU is running the whole time - is that right?

Re: Further to: Chip works perfectly in simulation BUT .....
Hi Leigh, I tried the first idea but when I got to the copatibility tab, I don't have "Run compatibility troubleshooter" - instead I have "Run this programme in compatibility mode for: and it has various old and newer windows OS's but not my Vista Ultimate 32 bit. However it must have used one of th...

Re: Further to: Chip works perfectly in simulation BUT .....
Thankyou fellars,
I am posting attachment of Task manager which shows about 50% (?) of the CPU useage and Flowcode at the same time is showing the same! the rest are basically zero. Is this the answer and if so what can I do about it? ( I am not very computer-literate I'm afraid! )

Further to: Chip works perfectly in simulation BUT ......
Hi Benj, I dont know what has happened to my postings but went AWOL at the end so I am starting new one based on old one and where I am at now is that the registration issue appears to have been overcome and this evening I have finally managed to get back the capability to compile to hex and chip bu...

Re: Chip works perfectly in simulation BUT........
Hi all, I now have the registration sorted out but unfortunately Flowcode is now un-useable as I can't compile to hex or chip. I am sure I have had this problem in the distant past and have been searching through all my posts and right through the v4 and general forum posts but cannot find the solut...

Re: Chip works perfectly in simulation BUT........
I dont seem to be working the PM correctly but the latest I have is:- Hi Benj, OK, I have inserted the Flowcode CD and followed the instructions and used the new CD code and it accepted it and also accepted the old user and key details as you suggested and it is not putting up the 30 day reminder an...

Re: Chip works perfectly in simulation BUT........
Hi Ben, Yes that is what I have done but tried again and still not working. I DID get a panel which included the user name field but dont see that now, howeever, I used OKSCJ in there as oppose to leaving it blank. I have also tried every which way from the Flowcode reminder Panel and clicking 'OK' ...

Hi fellas, thanks for your help but now situation seems to have altered:- Martin - I have un-installed and re-installed Flowcode v4 (using CD) and have now got rid of the reminder panel and is fully registered but now I cant compile at all because I get this message:- Unable to compile C file using:...

Re: Chip works perfectly in simulation BUT........
Hi Martin, It doesn't seem to have made any difference I'm afraid. I feel it has something to do with the fact that every time I open a Flowcode drawing, I get a reminder panel coming up to say I have so many days to get activation code and to either a) put in the code (which I did to re-install Flo...

Re: Chip works perfectly in simulation BUT........
Hi Martin, Yes you were correct - not using masking WAS the problem. It is now 100 % stable and correct every time. Many thanks. I still have the problem of compiling to hex and chip, each taking 5 mins or more. Every time I pick one of my Flowcode projects it is coming up with a panel that basicall...
