Hi Leigh,
I did a “Check for Updates” this afternoon (14/11/16), and it reports that my current version 6.1.3 is up to date !

Re: Flowcode V7
The breakpoint issues should have been put to bed a long time ago before moving onto more headline grabbing stuff.

Re: Flowcode V7
Will the V7 Beta package be standalone ? That is to say can it be removed without affecting V6 ?
I want to check that long standing issues such as breakpoints have been finally fixed before committing anymore time or money to FC.

Re: Flowkit V2 Breakpoints
Hi Leigh, That was it. Breakpoints only work if Simulation speed is set to "Normal". Many thanks for finding the problem. There was exactly the same issue of Breakpoints not working if speed was not "Normal" in normal simulation mode. That one has only just been fixed in the latest V6 patch. It took...

Flowkit V2 Breakpoints
Hi,
I am trying to use breakpoints on a simple LED flashing program using Flowkit V2.
It doesn't mater whether I set a breakpoint either before compiling under Ghost, or when running ICD,
the program continues on past the breakpoint. What is wrong ?
Best regards
Stewart

Re: Flowcode 6.1.3 released!
Problem found and fixed. The people that installed my W7 64bit OS did it with 8dot3 file names switched off. So the Program Files (x86) directory structure was created for short file names. These are not recognised by FC updates. I reinstall FC with the 6.1.3, and now it is working. Thanks to the te...

Re: Flowcode 6.1.3 released!
Hello, I am having problems applying the 6.1.3.2 patch to 6.1.2.0. I get the message "Directory selected did not contain the Flowcode.exe file. Patch tool will now exit." My system is W7 64 bit. Flowcode is in an X86 Program files directory. Putting the patch in the same directory as Flowcode.exe do...

EMR PIC's 16F1705/9
Hi,
These PIC's look interesting with lower power consumption, fast interrupts, DAC and PPS.
Are they likely to be supported by Flowcode in the near future ?
Cheers

Re: Can't find AVR complier on W7 64Bit
HI Benj,
Yup, that seems to have got it...
Moved the working folder to under Program Files (x86), checked that it worked, then renamed it Flowcode 6.
Hopefully that fix stays in place during future updates of Flowcode.
Many thanks for your help.
Cheers

Re: Can't find AVR complier on W7 64Bit
Hi Benj, Thanks for the info. That was the way that I enabled 8dot3 while trying to fix the problem. However, I believe that if 8dot3 was disabled when the system was built, there were no SFN's created and there is no way to change those original entries to SFN's. If after enabling SFN's 8dot3 will ...

Hi Benj,
If you can find that info it would be much appreciated as I would like to try and make FC conform to the norm.

Re: Can't find AVR complier on W7 64Bit
Hi Benj, I think that I have found the answer, although it's a right P.I.T.A. When I started investigating this problem looking at the 8dot3 mechanism I found that my system was set with 8dot3names disabled i.e set to 1. I then changed it to = 2, and verified that it had changed. It gave the expecte...

Re: Can't find AVR complier on W7 64Bit
Hi Benj, I created a directory in the root named FC. I tried to compile a one step AVR program with it stored there. Same error message. Ran the batch file as Administrator. It opened in the command window with the directory that I had the batch file stored in. Printed "press any key to continue". K...

Re: Can't find AVR complier on W7 64Bit
Hello Benj,
That was one of the settings I had previously looked at.
I have checked again using the command string you suggested and get the desired results.
Last line of the message says:-
"Based on the above two settings, 8dot3 name creation is enabled on C:"

Can't find AVR complier on W7 64Bit
Hi, I took advantage of the 50% offer and upgraded my licence to add AVR for Arduino UNO R3. Although I have generated much code for PIC's in the past without any issues I have spent 2 days without being able to compile a single Arduino program. GRR ! I have gone through all the settings a number of...

Re: Breakpoints V6
Hi Benj, Thank you for your reply. At present I am not using ICD, so I am unable to say if the problem still exists in that mode as well. The problem I am seeing is when using breakpoints to debug a program before it is even burnt into a PIC. Unless the simulation speed is set to Normal, breakpoints...

Hi, It's great that your son has discovered the world of electronics. A pleasant change from the spend the money and push the buttons appliance generation. As he is new to the hobby probably best to avoid anything that needs soldering (at least for now). I would suggest that he (you ?) invest in a s...
