Re: Can't figure that one out: Input not being read!
it was a wiring issue... I have have more than one of those PCB with Setup/inc/dec/enter/next.... one of them, had a wiring difference :the +V and Setup were reverse, so when the setup sw was activated, I would provide voltage to the Enter/Next/Inc/Dec...that why it was working only when Setup was a...

Re: Can't figure that one out: Input not being read!
Hi Benj,
I doubt it is the case, as the same button works fine when used within the config mode !
That's why I don't get it !
Normally that would have been my first reflex !

Can't figure that one out: Input not being read!
Hi everyone, I'm completely puzzled: I have a program/hardware that used to work. left it aside for a couple of weeks, now it only "partialy" work ! Let me explain. This is a game for paintball. it receives hit, count them, add some damage, heal over time, etc .... my interface with the operator con...

sending a string over I2C
Hi Everyone, I want to use a ATTiny85 and send a random number between 100000 and 999999, each time an input is ON, over I2C I have done something similat with an Arduino: one Arduino send the string, while the second receives it and display it. Because a ATTiny85 is way cheaper than an Arduino (And...

Ben : any fix for the issues involving using a Servo with an ATTiny85 ?
I posted something a week ago, and you mentioned the possibility of looking into that fix ..

FC5, w/ATTIny85, TCCR1A and TCCR1B error
Hi everyone, I'm experimenting with a servo and an ATTiny85. When I try to compile, I get the following errors: G:\Jasmin\PROJET~1\WIP\PAC15C~1\07-FLO~1\test de servo.c: In function 'main': G:\Jasmin\PROJET~1\WIP\PAC15C~1\07-FLO~1\test de servo.c:747: error: 'TCCR1A' undeclared (first use in this fu...

Re: I2C vs LCD ....again ...
Hey ! as of right now, I have nothing....I don't know where/how to start....I have dealt with LCD (Stand alone ) before, and it was a piece of cake....In this particular case, if I add a LCD object, I wouldn't what connection to put in ... I have looked at 2-3 other chart; they don't look alike, and...

Hi everyone, I know, I have asked that question before, but since last time, I have tested a few things, with some success..... Here is what I want to do: I want to connect an Arduino Nano (V3, w/328 chip) to a I2C adapter, in order to send text to an LCD. here's what I have that works: - Adapter wo...

Re: intermittent weird behavior with 1602 LCD
Hi Benj connection is made with 6x individual cable, about 6-7 inches of length...do you think it can be an issue ? I could probably shorten then by 1-2 inches what about the idea of placing a pull-down resistance ? could it help ??? I will modify my code to do a Start as suggested and let you know ...

intermittent weird behavior with 1602 LCD
Hi everyone, I made a design, that uses a 1602 LCD. wrote the program for an ATTiny4313, and it works perfectly ...most of the time... Sometime, and I could not identify a common pattern, the display shows garbage: I mean by that, bunch of illogical caracters, filling up the whole display. If I try ...

Re: What to use to download to a PIC
Medelec: at this point, there is no circuit. The PIC sit on a board that is used only to program a chip. In theory, the voltage shall be supplied by the PICLIT3 itself. I have installed MPLAB, and even MPLAB is unable to communicate with the chip. As for the 16C84, I believe that it is not supported...

Re: What to use to download to a PIC
Medelec:
Just got my PICKIT3.
Few questions: Do I need to install MPLAB (in addition of Flowcode) in order to use it ?
I will be using FC5. any screen capture of the settings ? I have found a few topics about FC6. are the settings the same ?
Thanks !

quick follow up on that issue: If you get the SOIC 208 mils wide, the ATTIny 85 WILL FIT on it....

Re: Can you work with WS2812 LEDs in Flowcode v4 AVR
I really wish someone would come up with a "core program" based on an AVR.... I've looked at the WS2812 and I have no clue how to get started. I'm not good in 'C' , so that does not help ! Would be nice if Matrix, instead of coming up with mecanical simulation for V6 (IMHO), would have created block...

Hi ! I have asked that question in the past, but did not get a satisfactory answer ! I want to program some PIC. Re: programming an Atmel SOIC chip
Hi folks, Might have found an answer: SOIC package is a standard that is 150 mils wide ...or 208 mils wide.... I found this on Wikipedia: "SOIC actually refers to at least two different package standards. The EIAJ SOIC body is approximately 5.3 mm (0.21 in) wide while the JEDEC SOIC body is approxim...

Re: programming an Atmel SOIC chip
@Sparkoids: That's what I thought, but the **** chip won't fit in ! When you push down the top portion, some kind of "gripper" raise (which in theory should make room for the chip), but there no way to seat the chip in place ....looks like the chip is actually wider that the socket itself ..... mayb...

Hi Everyone, I have done some design using an ATTiny85, but I want to reduce my board size; I ordered a couple of ATTiny85 with an SOIC package How in hell am I supposed to program them ?? thanks everyone....I'll explore creating a component. Not sure how, but I should figure it out ... Hi everyone, First, I'm not 100% sure this post is at the right place, but I'm confident that if it's not the case, it will be pushed to the right location. Second, I need some explanation regarding if it's possible or not to create our own "component macro" I am currently using FC5 (I bought the FC...
