Hi
it appears i am in a similar situation, i am trying to use the LED_BL0167 component but i am greeted with the same thing gary here has encountered, large squares saying "component label" where the LEDs are located. (see attached image)

never mind i installed the 8.1.1 fix and it now works fine.
If i do come across this problem however while using 8.1.1 i will let youse know
