Re: Safe biometrics authentication

Fingerprints scanners outside might be an issue regarding the user experience. Would you like to use it when the unit is -5 C? Also people’s fingerprints suffer from cold and damp. Even the scanners in expensive devices like iPhones and iPads have difficulty recognizing fingerprints regularly, I exp...

Re: ADVICE USING RB0 INT FUNCTION

That depends on what you use to drive the input. If you use a well defined, not open collector, output of another chip no pull-up/down is required. If you use a switch that connects to GND/Vcc a pull-up/down will be required.

Re: XC8 compiler with not reacting on --ASMLIST flag

You will need to modify the "$(compilerpic)batch\pic_xc8_comp.bat" file (save a copy of the original). Add the additional parameters to the call to XC8 in that file.

Re: 16f18325 clock selection

The speed in the general settings is used to calculate timing, baudrates etc. Not to program the chip to run on a different speed. You will need to use a C code icon with the appropriate code for that to happen.

Re: STACK HARDWARE OVERFLOW

The possible stack error occurs if the interrupt fires while the lcd_I2C1::Start() macro is running. As the interrupt is (still) disabled at that point that will not happen so you can ignore the warning. If you want to get rid of it replace the basic_switch1:ReadState() macro with an input icon to r...

distance was I'm guessing still over a mile. I’ve been working with LoRaWAN (based on LoRa) for over three years now and one thing I can guarantee is that predicting radio coverage is impossible. I’ve seen it working inside older buildings with multiple 2 feet reinforced concrete floors between rec...

Re: (cheap), Long range module (node to node) RFM95?

On the Adafruit site there is example code for RFM95 node to node communication . Make sure to use a frequency legal for your location and matching your module. In Europe I would avoid the lorawan frequencies 868.1/.3/.5 MHz as there will be a lot of ‘noise’ generated by other users (there will be o...

Screen shots can be added to the forum message as well, no need to use PDF for this either. Just upload a jpg/png and add it i...

Re: (cheap), Long range module (node to node) RFM95?

RFM95 in LoRa mode (it can do fsk as well) should be able to get you at least 50m with multiple obstacles in between. If you want to try before a component is available, you could check the code available in the Arduino community. Keep in mind LoRa uses minimal transmission energy to stay within the...

Re: USB in Flowcode 8

I cant compile a hex-file if I have any USB component(HID, Serial, ...) in the program. Make sure you use FC 8.1 with the latest updates. The initial FC 8.0 release has issues with the USB for some controllers, this was fixed in updates. However you are unable to update 8.0 now 8.1 has been release...

It would take a lot less screen estate and allow conditional updates within a calculation icon. Using C code does not help the readability of the Flowchart.

Your code compiled correctly. No need to worry. The only thing you might want to check is the warnings regarding return values not being given values. That might indicate programming issues in your code.

Flowcode 8.1 includes other improvements apart from SCADA. I would suggest you update. I don't think this update is available in the update system as it updates the main FC executable, but 'just' the components. Go to the Flowcode 8.1 download page to download the update.

If you look at the circuit diagram on the product page (the rightmost picture under more views) you can see GND is present on both connectors. So there is no need to connect GND yourself. The EB connector does not have a any power connection, that is why you need to supply power to the connector so ...

Re: Compiler settings

Both FC7 and FC8 use XC8 in free mode. If you want to you can use your own licensed XC8 compiler for smaller code. If Matrix were to include the non free versions of the compilers Flowcode would become substantially more expensive. If you were running in the first 30 days of you own XC8 install (it ...
