Re: Adding control codes to a string

Control codes like \n and \r need to be inside the quotes. Adding \0 will terminate the string at that point, any characters beyond will be ignored, so avoid adding it before other control characters.

Re: Max7219

Jorgen, It is always better to define your own component folder. See Custom Location . That way you are sure your components will not be lost on update or overwritten by a Matrix component at some future date. Will that component work? Hard to say. The file is compatible. If the logic works depends ...

Re: Print UInt number on two ports

Use a calculation icon to split it into two byte sized variables like this: (Create two variables counter_low and counter_high of type byte) counter_low = counter & 255 counter_high = (counter >> 8) Now you can use these to set port A & B. (If you want to you can skip the variables and just ...

Re: New hard disk Error message with compiling to ECIO40P

Once again, what you are looking at are COMPILERS. I am talking about COMPONENTS, those are the building blocks in Flowcode like ADC, LCD and GPS. As you well know because you used it before and reported an error here there are on-line updates for components. I asked if you updated all components be...

Re: New hard disk Error message with compiling to ECIO40P

The compiler reports an error in the code that makes it impossible to compile. Upload can not proceed without compiled code.

Have you updated all components to the latest versions?

Re: Wishlist for V8

Comparing Flowcode to Arduino with regards to components supported is not fair. For Arduino almost all components are created and provided by 3th parties. Whenever Adafruit and the like 'create' a new piece of hardware they make sure there is a library for it. Creating a library for Arduino is less ...

Re: Cheap PCB manufacturing

There are a number of cheap options to have you PCBs manufactured. I've used several of them over the years, one thing to be aware of when using some of the cheap options is the solder mask clearance (minimal space between pads to have solder mask between the pads). Some are unable to provide solder...

Re: Help understanding USART component please

Take a look at the help page for string manipulation functions ... There is an example to set the value of a string with Str1[0] = 'H' Str1[1] = 'e' ... To reverse this (get the value from a string) you could use: a = str[4] Just make sure to check the length of the string first. It does not make se...

Have you checked the gps documentation for the default communication settings?

If you happen to have a serial to usb converter you can connect the gps to it to check it is working as expected.

Nick,

If you are a beginner it helps to create a number of flowcharts to master Flowcode basics before starting on creating components.

Re: MOD Operation selected after Minut

The serial port settings you show are correct IF the jumper settings in the Miac are correct. Check the data sheet to see the jumper settings (page 11, one of the first three diagrams is OK) Check the documentation of your GPS module to see if it uses 9600 bps or 38400 bps for the communication speed.

Re: MOD Operation selected after Minut

You need to connect to Miac RX and TX, the pins upper right, next to the power connector. And of course set the component to use that serial port.

Re: MOD Operation selected after Minut

Your connections do not seem right. Miac is RS232 level according so should be connected to the pins at the top marked RS-232. I would connect MIAC RX to T1OUT, MIAC TX to R1IN, GPS RX to R1OUT and GPS TX to T1IN. For the MIAC I am referring to the connections at the top right op the MIAC labelled R...

Re: ESP32 component

As I mentioned before, an ESP32 component will not allow you to generate code for the ESP32 itself, just use it to provide WiFi for another (Flowcode supported) controller. Your use case seems to require programming the ESP32, so you will need t look at another solution for that. If the only goal is...

Do we have an update on this? I have purchased some modules from a reputable supplier, Adafruit. Would like to to use the connectivity features for LoRa radio. Re: Multi-threading (Parallel operation/Loops) is possible in Flowcode 8?

Up until a few years ago when all controllers were single core all multi-threading was done by quickly switching between tasks. With multi core controllers (except the Raspberry Pi I don't think Flowcode supports any) two threads can run simultaneously. To fake multiple threads running in parallel o...
