Hello Xelites,
I can confirm that this unfortunate bug has been fixed. The next release of Flowcode (8.1, due for release later this week) will contain the fix.
Thanks,
Daniel

Re: Missing pic8 compiler file
Hi kramtlas, I'm glad that you have your compiler issue resolved. Just to confirm, the image of your compiler settings with "$(appdir)" is now what you have it set to, and your compilers are now located in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Flowcode v8\compilers"? Did you move these yourself? Because it seems ...

Re: Missing pic8 compiler file
Hi Kramtlas, I'm still trying to replicate this issue to prevent this being a problem in future. Are you still experiencing this issue? Would you be able to answer the following for me to help me diagnose? What were the results of the sequence of steps in my previous post (prior to reinstallation)? ...

Re: Missing pic8 compiler file
Hi kramtlas, My sincerest apologies for the delay with this response. The issue has me at a loss, due to the fact that the errors do not seem consistent. (The first suggested that Flowcode could access the correct registry entry, but the second suggested the opposite!) The fact that it is clear that...

Re: STARM Compiler Error with FC8
Please see these notes regarding the GetShortPathName problem. https://www.matrixtsl.com/faq/index.php?action=artikel&cat=1&id=69&artlang=en It is worth noting that you may not need to reinstall/copy the directories for Flowcode or the compilers. I recommend first just attempting to change the regi...

Re: Missing pic8 compiler file
Hi kramtlas, Sorry for the problems you're experiencing. The error in your first post seems to indicate that Flowcode knows the location of the compiler, but is having an issue launching it. The error in your latest post suggests that Flowcode now does not even know the location of the compiler. So ...

Re: Update Error
Hi, Thanks for your post and sorry for the problem that you are experiencing. I am trying to replicate the issue but without success. Can I ask why you are running Flowcode with administrator privileges? The software is not designed to be run in this mode. It is possible that this is what is causing...

Re: Grouping 'problem'
Hi Martin,
Apart from the zoom bug, and the icon offset bug, (which I am still working on) I've implemented fixes for all of the problems you have mentioned. They will definitely be in the next release.

Re: so many problems .
Do you happen to have antivirus like BitDefender, F-Secure or ZoneAlarm? Can you try disabling it for a short time to test out ? This is a very good idea. I tend to forget that antivirus software can still cause problems even in 2018. I would also suggest, in addition to turning off any antivirus s...

Re: so many problems .
Based on the compiler output you have pasted, the compiler batch file is being invoked correctly. The issue is that for some reason the batch file cannot find the actual compiler executable. Could you please check that "C:\Flowcode\Common\Compilers\pic16\bin\xc16-gcc.exe" is present on your system? ...

Re: Concerning bug and correction!
Hi all, Thank you to Martin and QMESAR for the explanation. My intention when developing the update feature was to avoid spamming users who only use certain files in their projects with endless notifications of updates that they might never need. I also did not want to intimidate beginners by showin...

Re: so many problems .
Hi Steve,
I am still investigating. What is the full path/location of the project file that you are trying to compile? (assuming that the path name does not contain any sensitive information and you don't mind sharing it)
Thanks,
Daniel

Re: so many problems .
Hi Steve, Sorry that you are experiencing issues. To start with, we'll try and resolve your issue with compiling to PIC16 devices: There are two things we must check initially. Could you confirm the following for me? (assuming that your compiler is installed in "C:\Flowcode\Common\Compilers\pic16")....

Re: Grouping 'problem'
Martin,
Thanks for the screenshot. It's helped me to understand what you meant a bit better.
But I'm still struggling to reproduce it! I've made a note and I'll keep investigating and hope to get it resolved by the next minor release.
Thanks for your help.

Hi Martin,
Thanks for your feedback. The detailed description can be shown to the right of the group by right-clicking the icon, then selecting Annotations -> Comments.
Regarding the visual offset bug, I can't seem to replicate this on my PC. I'll investigate further.
Thanks,
Daniel.

Re: Flow 8
I found a quirk with installing the toolchain... Installing to it's default directory (of program files (x86)) - causes compilation to fail with Launching the compiler... E:\Program Files (x86)\Flowcode\Common\Compilers\avr\batchfiles\avra.bat atmega328p "C:\Users\Martin\DOWNLO~1\test8.elf" "C:\Use...

It is on the list of fixes for the next release

Re: Flowcode Opening Issues.
Roy, I am surprised that the relevant location in ProgramData is empty. Flowcode 8 checks for this folder (creating it if necessary) prior to loading the flowchart. If you successfully loaded Flowcode 8 at any point, then this folder must have been created. This suggests that something (perhaps anot...

Re: Flowcode Opening Issues.
Roy, This is a very strange issue indeed. Flowcode remaining in task manager should not affect the starting of a new instance, as it is in fact possible to run multiple instances of Flowcode at a time. It is worth noting that sometimes after you "close" Flowcode, the process remains in task manager ...

Re: Flowcode Opening Issues.
Hi Roy, Thanks for your post. I'm sorry to hear about your problem. Would you be able to provide me with the following information? 1) What version of Windows are you using? 7, 8, 8.1, 10 etc. ? 2) What exactly happens when you try to open it the second time. Does the splash screen appear? Do you re...
