Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
After many hours trying various things I decided to re-install Flowcode via my account where everything 'lines up' correctly like keys and user names etc. and I can now compile BUT: 1) It is taking up to 6 minutes! 2) As you can see, it is STILL saying UNREGISTERED. 3) I dont understand the cautions...

Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
Hi Benj, I HAVE all my 'Flowcode V4 for PIC details i.e. 6-part Licence/CD Key (ending XCUFY2) and my 7-part Licence/CD Key (ending with ZEWXJQ). The problem every time is that when the 'Flowcode reminder' panel comes up, I click on 'Enter Key' and it comes up with the 'Error' panel which I show in ...

Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
OK, I have now 'repaired' Flowcode and it is now showing the components when clicked on but each time I bring up a chart it brings up the panel quoting I have 30 days to register etc. so may not be giving me full access/!

Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
Now it has gone full circle and although I put in the Licence key and it SAYS it is recognised and all ok, when I pick any chart, everything is still unregistered. I had this problem at the beginning of all these other problems so I am now back to totally unuseable. I know this is v4.5 but I still n...

Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
When I click on help in Flowcode it has never appeared to work but a windows panel basically says it isn't supported so I cant do anything 'there'.
It Does now say it is v4.5,18,74 so that HAS changed.

Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
Oh - that seems to have 'killed' v4. The 1823 chart is now missing the RS232 and ALL the components like comms, LED's, Switch arrays etc etc are all saying "unregistered" now!

Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
Hi Benj, I have Flowcode 4 version 4.3.7.63 dated 2010 I don't know how to compare files but will have a look on the web or if you can tell me what is a free one if I need to download something. What is a way out of this - can I upgrade to a 4.5 so that I dont make all my current charts unuseable? I...

Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
Hi Benj, Have done all that but it still wont compile or pick up the INTERRUPT to the Macro in simulation, instead it comes up with 13 'paragraphs' (for want of a better description) of errors and ending in code 1......see the first attachment for last part but all the previous is similar. I would j...

Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
Ahh, Sorry Benj but it wont compile.
I have been trying to sort out Osccon at the beginning but to no avaail and it mentions 2 errors anyway and I cant see another possibility.
Wonder if you can just spot what is being referred to - see attachment

Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
Many thanks Benj, I have no issues with the answering side of things at all - you fellows do a sterling job even with 'old versions' like mine and my queries have always been answered by someone in the end, but I was concerned that these chips might be no good regarding the insistence of PORT B inte...

Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
Hi, I have small update on the previous attachment to show the correct number of PORT A inputs which is 6 in number. The MCLR RA3 at pin 4 will be 'tied' to +ve to enable the PIC16F1823. I have only 2 questions:- 1) Why is 'INTERRUPT ENABLE' in 'Main' showing Port B?? (I have tried everything I can ...

Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
Have posted NEW FLOWCHART as attachment using the PIC16LF1823 and the only snag is that the INTERRUPT refers to PORT B but it should refer to PORT A as there obviously is no port B on this chip. Where is that information coming from because it doesn't even ask for the port OR state it in 'properties...

Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
HOLD EVERYTHING - I have just RE-installed the same updated PPP as I did yesterday and created a new flowchart and on selecting PIC16LF1823 it HAS worked!!! So I will see how it goes for the moment......

Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
OK - I can see all my postings now so there must have been some 'glitch' before. Not sure what this is or where the supplementary code window is and is it to do with getting the F1823 on board or just the config settings (which I am OK with) :- "....you should be able to add the configuration settin...

Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
Hi Benj, I had the latest PPP but tried 'MS repair' AND re-installation but no good. I tried mLoader several times but I just get multiple pages one after the other flashing through and task manager cant deal with it so had to turn off PC and re-boot each time. My development board is a HP488 V3. I ...

Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
HI, I now see that on some 'old' micros there were only RB4 - RB7 available as is the case with my latest chip selection. Because of this and to reduce chip physical size, I now want to use a PIC16LF1823 14-pin chip which has RA0, 1,2,4 and 5 IOC leaving RA3 for MCLR (which I guess I leave unmasked)...

Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
Oh, OK I have been doing a bit of interrupts searching and I see that the PIC family allows for the interrupts on RB4 to RB7 so I will now move my switches to those 4 inputs but I need 5 INPUT SWITCHES.
Can anyone suggest how I could deal with the 5th switch?
Chris

Re: Putting a PIC16F88 into and out of sleep mode
Hi Benj and all, I have decided to change the transmitter chip after all, to a PIC16F883 because I want the incoming switch signal on RB0 to RB4 to be the trigger AND send its appropriate UART decimal number as seen in Macro TxUART. It seems a bit over-kill for what I need but I couldn't see another...

Hi Benj,
Can I just clarify in YOUR last post (as I wont be able to simulate) whether it is 'st_bit' or 'ts_bit' ?
Thanks

Hi Steve,
Thankyou for your further info. on this and useful re a received UART signal will do this as I may use this in another part of the project.
No information is wasted - 'Every little helps'!

Chris
