May I also take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Matrix who I have dealt with for many many years. From technical support from DavidA and Ben to sales with Jane and Co etc the whole bunch are just great.
Thanks guys - I have yet to have a problem you haven't been able to solve :-}

Can anyone help please...
I need some code for a random number generator to generate a number from 1 to 2000. There is no human input on the circuit (so counter and push switch is not possible) - it is turned on and generates a number which is fed into a variable for the duration of that particular time the circuit is used. ...

Matrix Forums "Search" Function Crashing
Has anyone else noticed that the Search function on these Matrix Multimedia forums causes them to crash? I know someone out there has experience with Triacs but searching for anything causes the whole system to crash. Try it!

What Is The Cheapest Solution Please?
If one were to implement a system where a master unit sends signals to remote slave units does anyone know what the cheapest and most practical method of doing that is please?
Can bus, !2C etc are all new and confusing to me. (Well they would be if Flowcode didn't exist!)
Thanks in advance...

Using an ECIO_28 module at 5V to drive a TIP120 NPN Transistor to turn a 15v dc motor on and off I put a 1K Resistor in series with the Port RB4 as it was shown all over the internet. It didn't start the motor so I fitted a 6K8 resistor that I had available and it runs like a dream? The data sheet i...

I have to control a triac via an opto isolator using burst mode which is fine - the scope shows a 20.1mS cycle time which again is great for 50Hz mains. The opto automatically switches the triac at the zero crossing point so no worries there. From the 20mS cycle I can use a voltage drop to trigger t...

Re: Reading LM35 Temperature IC
Thank you very much indeed guys. These fast responses are exactly why Flowcode is perfect for development of micro controller projects. All I need to do now is *accurately* set up 20mS cycle started by a 2.8mS negative voltage drop to trigger a Triac on and off via a zero volt crossing Opto and I'm ...

Martin I'm about to slap my forehead and shout "DOH of course it is!"
Why is the ReadADC * 50 / 102 part included though?
Elsewhere someone is reading it as a voltage - should I be doing that really?

Hi guys, I have a Flowchart running correctly by taking parts from other people's samples here and that is great. However I have actually got muddled up with a physical Temperature Sensor that works on Celsius (which I need) and a Fahrenheit Macro on the Flowchart which I only just noticed. I am get...

How much current does a pic drop?
I am trying to reverse engineer a section of a circuit which basically holds an opto isolator (TLP3020) configured by 5V I/P to Pin 1 and O/P via a resistor from Pin 2 into a micro controller. The micro controller is held high then in operation it goes low which allows the LED in the opto to let the...

Before I go charging headlong into something overly complex I need to read temperatures from 0 degrees up to a maximum of 125 degrees on a PIC18F13K50 (which works perfectly in Flowcode). The reading doesn't have to be highly accurate - within a couple of degrees in fine and needs to be connected by...

It cannot "see" the ECIO and the LED on it keeps rapidly flashing. I just get the following: ECIO-28 version: 1.1 Ready Another one I have is working as well and both show up as 28 pin ECIO custom USB devices... This is driving me mad - I'm on a deadline and I can't use the other one because it is f...

Re: AC Ripple Problem - I think ECIO 28
OK I am getting 5.175v DC at the ECIO_28 between Power and ground and 1.2v - 1.5v AC voltage between the contacts of the relay when it is made. To me that is weird since on a mechanical switch there shouldn't be any difference in voltage really. Interestingly the act of putting the Fluke multimeter ...
