Re: Component Variable ICON list
Hi chipfryer27 Yes, let me further explain. I know what the variables are, but, if I am to give directions to a new user for further reading on variables, where do I send them for help. I am trying to write a tutorial which by definition must be specific and precise, not left guessing. Those icon de...

Component Variable ICON list
Hi Everyone Please, can anyone help me find the specific Wiki page which gives details of the icons used for - Properties Variables , as shown below. I mean, what is L+; Z+ b; B etc. I am sure B is for byte and b is for bit, but I am left guessing here. If you look at those shown below, I am left wo...

Re: Disappearing Window
Well, I take that back. I have solved my own problem. There appears to be a miss-match when doing 'In Use' only updates. I have just done a full system update (using the up-date feature of FC8) and the problem has gone away. Yeh.

Re: Disappearing Window
Hi Everyone Well, I though I must be going daft. probably am, but where has all my display gone? They have for some reason disappeared from the 'Displays' and can now only be accessed via 'Misc' menu through the search option. This is very odd as I have done nothing to the settings. :( FC8_Displays_...

Hi Steve
Many thanks for the test files, they defiantly reveal the problems I had with FC7. However, FC8 is okay for me.
Here is the results in FC8 Here is the result in FC7 Same computer setting for both

Re: *OBJ Design S. Mechanical to FC 3D Panel
Hi Steve Thank you for your quick reply. I have solved this issue regarding the dialog box, as it does appear for me on my computer on the task bar. It's just a matter of clicking on the task bar to get it to display. My initial problem was getting to recognise the file types produced by RS Designsp...

Hi Ferla This may be worth a try. Have a look at your user account settings to see what level of control has been activated by your security settings - it should look like this if you are only using trusted applications: User_Account_Settings.png If it is set the the one above, may explain why you a...

Hi Everyone Hope you don't mind me joining this thread, but I have had this problem for a while. I think I may have found a solution, that works for me, that may help. Re: FC7 Components transfer to FC8
Thanks Benj for clarifying that for me. The idea that I have is, it is possible for students to work from home with a free FC8 licence, and given access to specifically developed components for use in projects that would otherwise not be possible. Of course, someone would have to develop those compo...

FC7 Components transfer to FC8
Hi Everyone Did you know, components that were designed/developed using FC7 and then transferred into FC8 'FREE' (this was before I upgraded), can be used without having the appropriate component pack installed. Yes - a user developed display component, when transferred into the free version of FC8 ...

Yep. I have had a laugh at myself. I’m not going to delete the tread because it serves to everyone, check and check again. I didn’t, as I was in a hurry before my free lecience ran out, to do some bench mark testing between FC7 vs FC8, before upgrading. Well, I’ve upgraded to FC8. There’s much...

FC7 Compiler XC8 Ver 1.41 to XC8 Ver 1.45
Hi Everyone I have been looking at upgrading to FC8. Just wanted to compare what's new. However, the first difference I have noticed is that Microchip has a new compiler V1.45. Q. Why am I not allowed to use this newer version with FC7? This is the message that I get:- ERROR: Can not launch process:...

Hi Ficher I would suggest you change the 'Clear' LCD with the following to get a smother display: FC5_SCR1.jpg Not sure if the flikering display is your problem but this would help. Also, your math is a constant ( *100 / 5) = 20 just multuply your voltage by 20 and it should give your the same resul...

Hi Ben
Yes, got it. Phew. I wasn't sure, but your brilliant example has explained a lot. I think I can now proceed with the component simulation development. Although, I imagine it will take me a while, as this looks challenging.
Very much appreciate your help.

Hi Rod I think you may have a PicKit3 that requires to be setup with an ID. To do this: 1. Connect your PicKit3 and select - Check Communication PicKit3Menu1.png 2. Then select - Set Unit ID PicKit3Menu2.png 3. This will give you the following option PicKit3Menu3.png You can now place an appropriate...
