Bluetooth Module

Post by JohnCrow »

Hi Benj

Im looking at ordering the bluetooth eblock in the near future.
Want to try controlling from the smart phone (close range)

The photo on the MM website looks different to the one on the datasheet.
i.e the actual module is different. data sheet shows a TDK module and is larger than the board in the website photo.

You also have a link to a Laird module which looks like the module on the board on eblocks website.

Is there a more recent data sheet?
I know nothing (who said that ?) about bluetooth so want to gather the datasheets together and have a good read before ordering.
Thanks

Hi John,

Yes the module we used to use was quite big and from Ezurio who have now been bought out by Laird.

We use the v2 of the module at the moment but may move to a surface mount version fairly soon.

Bluetooth modules are largely similar as they should all have the same type of AT command interface, similar to GSM and Zigbee.

The module AT command set is probably the most useful document to look at.

But this page from Laird should also help.

Hi John,

Were you able to use the bluetooth module and the smartphone together? I am also doing the same thing with the Formula Flowcode.
