EB006-8 Driver issue

Post by jrlauridson »

I have had FC and the EB006-8 for about a year and a half.
Recently I needed to reload everything onto a fresh Windows 8.1 machine.
I downloaded the driver for EB006-8 from the Matrix site.
However, it will not load on my machine.
I have downloaded the driver from the site several times with the same result each time.
Loading directly from the 64 bit downloaded driver, the message is failure to load. (I have extracted the driver files from the download correctly, I believe).

Trying another approach,I attached the EB006 to the computer, the board is recognized as an unknown device.
Then using the device control menu, I have tried to load the driver from the copy on my PC.
I get the following message:

"The hash for the file is not present in the specified catalog file. The file is likely corrupt or the victim of tampering,"

I think this would mean one of two possibilities:
The drive on the Matrix site has been compromised.
Or
There is some security block acting in Windows 8.1. I have checked but cannot find any remedy for that.

I have not found any similar issues like this on the forum.

Any help will be gratefully accepted.
(I am on the verge of using a PicKit and imported Hex files to MPLAB to program my PIC chips, but that would mean loosing the functionality of my other E blocks.

Hi jrlauridson,
Welcome to matrix forums.
There is a FAQ on EB006 programmer and 64bit windows8
Hopefully that should help you.

That did it.
I am embarrassed that I did not see that in the FAQ.
I will be more diligent in searching the Forum/FAQ in the future.

Thank you.
(Matrix and this forum offers excellent support.)
