PPPV3

Post by jkunzmann3251 »

I am unable to use PPV3 with my EB006-7 PIC16F88 test file program. My PPP V3 is 3.12.16.31 Firmware 7. The EB006-7 is configured per the instructions. Nevertheless PPP notes that it cannot idendity 16F88 inserted. Trying to erase and load any one of the two
test files (f_test_1.hex or f_test_2.hex) will not work and return an error "Programming Failed". ...Help!!! Joe K

Hello,

Please can you confirm that you only have the 16F88 device inserted and no other microcontrollers.

The 16F88 is inserted in the correct socket, the right way up with all the pins making contact.

The 16F88 is not damaged, might need to get hold of a second 16F88 microcontroller to test this.

The jumpers are in the correct settings.

What voltage of PSU are you using?

Benji,

On EB-006-00-7 the following is confirmed:

1. 16F88 is inserted in U18 Socket and seems to be seated correctly.
16F877A inserted in U40 Socket same results.
Only one PIC inserted at any given try and Pin orientation correct.
2. PSU Adapter is set for 13.5V per instructions.
3. Jumper J29 is set to PSU
4. Jumper(s) J12,J13,J14 set to USB
5. Jumper(s) J18 and J19 set to OSC
6. SW1 set to Fast
7. SW2 set RC (but tried XTAL setting as well)
8. J11 set to I/O RB3
9. J16 set to I/O RB4
10. J17 set to I/O RB5
11. USB cable on J1 and drivers successfully installed
12. LED 1 and LED 2 illuminated

PIC MICRO Configuration:

OSC SEL = HS
WatchDog Timer = OFF
Power Up Timer = OFF
RA5/MCLR = MCLR
Brown Out = OFF
LVP = Disabled
Data EE Read Protect = OFF
Flash Prgm Write Enable = Write Protect Off
Background Debug = Disabled
CCP1 MUX Pin = RB0
Code Protect = OFF
Fail Safe Clock = Disabled
Int/Ext Switch over Mode = Disabled

I will not ID the PIC inserted or perform a erase programming function. Waiting for your kind response.

Regards Joe K
