eb006 and PIC18F46K80

Post by john_m0ers »

Hi, can some one tell me if the eb006 v9 will program the PIC18F46K80 chip.
If not, is there a way round it besides using pickit2?
thanks john

Have you checked the documentation? It does not list the 18F46K80 in the supported devices list. mLoader does not have a definition for the chip. So no, eb006 v9 does not support programming that chip.
According to MPLAB X the chip is not supported by PICkit2, PICkit3 is required to program it.

Hi, yes I did notice that it wasn't listed, but sometimes chips get added which is what I hoped. I also have a
pickit 3, but it seems so silly that flowcode 6 supports it, but not the programmer!
You would hope the two would stay in sync.
Thanks anyway

I note what you said about the above chip not being supported by mloader, yet it exists in its chip list!
The only problem I can see is that one of the A ports is vdd core. Also I've seen mention of tying this pin to the relevant
voltage sometimes works.

I've checked the newest mLoader definitions I could find and do not see the chip listed so I'm curious where you found it.

Hi, if I look at a file called ppp_chip_script its almost at the bottom.
This file is in prog files(x86)\flowcode 6\tools\mloader.
I also found it in another file, but to see it you need to view it in hex. The above file is just a txt file
Looking at the datasheet, the only real difference between this family and the k22 series is that one of the A port
pins is a voltage regulator output that needs a 10uf cap from it to gnd.
