debugging using the HP-488-00-03

Post by saravana_3 »

I am strugling on debugging, since this development board is not supported by the MPLAB I cannot go to the step by step monitoring when the programm is running facility in the MPLAB,
are you having any facility in the HP-488-00-3 kit, when I read the manual it tells that the ICD2 debugging tool will able to trouble shoot, if I am not mis understand the manual said the jumber J20 mst be put in to the ICD2 mode but the same J20 is using to down load the program through the USB cable, I got confused, please clarify and help me to find the way for debugging the programe when I giving the input.

Hello

The J20 is used to assign the programming mode to the USB or the ICD2. If you set the Jumper to ICD2 then you can program and debug the PICmicro via MPLAB.

Hi thanks for your reply,
in this case is it I have to buy a ICD2 kit from the microchip and conect it between the HP-488-00-03 kit and the pc (mplab) and do the debugging.

Hello

Yes this is correct. We also sell the ICD2 kit or you can purchase it directly from Microchip direct.
