Hi Ondra. It seems that the header of the file is corrupted in some way, meaning it doesn't even start to load.

I am looking into this now, but could you give us more details on what is happening and what you are doing to cause this? Is it crashing as you save the file, and if so can you give us (if it exists) an uncorrupted version of the file to investigate with?

I will try to recover your work but as yet I do not know the extent of the corruption in the file - it may just be the header or the whole file may be corrupt. Knowing what caused the issue will help figure this out.

Cheers,

Jonny

Also, are you accessing the file across a network, on a local disk, or on a thumb drive?

Sorry, I don't have a non corrupted version. I do have other corrupted files, about 3 more, I deleted some.
and yes the files are on the local drive.
In some cases it happened when I was saving the file; the program just hangs. So I have used task manager to shut it down.
Other times I deleted RS232 components then used the undo button to try and get it back. When I did the program crashed.
Then a one point just working along and crash there it goes again. Can't pinpoint the reason for that.
For the record I'm using win XP with Dual monitor, 2gig of ram. No problems V4; gone back to that for now. V5 makes me nervous.

Hi. Sorry to hear of your problems. One thing, are your programs quite large? The undo crash sounds like an issue we had that a fix is posted for here:
http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/mmforum ... 47&t=10115
It may be that your programs are on the threshold of exhibiting this problem and this is the cause.

Unfortunately with any newly released major version there are always issues, and we are doing what we can to sort hem all out. If you are experiencing these crashes often then yes, the important thing is to be able to continue your work. I hope we can rectify these problems and put your mind at ease about v5!

Is the program you sent necessary for your work or is it a sample (i.e. do you want me to try to recover any data?) I can try to recover things but I cant guarantee so at this point, I'm afraid.
