From Light Sensor to Temperature Sensor?

This is a program created some time ago with a lot of help from you guys. It used a phototransistor to detect light then switch a led on.
Would I be correct in assuming I can swap the phototransistor for a thermistor and the same program can be used? Thanks a lot.....John
