The current hold-up with FlowCode v3 is because we are waiting for a new release of the underlying C compiler. This should be out very soon (this week or next).

We have also just released the latest BETA for testing, so barring any major problems we should be releasing the product by mid-October.

You guys are so clever, but lets not forget the basics...... lets have a set of switches that are normally closed, like in alarm circuits, or an option to change the state before running a flowcode sim,

Switches (when set to toggle mode) now keep their state (open or closed) when the simulation starts. This should make you happy!

It's not quite ready for general release yet, but we hope to have something up on the web by the end of Friday.

It will be easy to find, and I'll probably make an announcement on this forum too (if I remember).

Eventually, yes. We have been working on a design using a mobile-phone type display, but we won't be able to continue on this until Christmas.

Do you have a specific graphical LCD type in mind?

What I have in mind is Something like 240 x 128 pixels and 128 x 64

I think it’s something quite standard , easy to find , and are used in many projects .

Do you think it is possible to include them in v3 ?

Possibly, but not immediately - we've got quite a few other commitments to get through first.

Component creation is currently not very easy (I'll soon work on a way of making it easier by producing a good SDK).

If you (or anyone else) has example C code for driving such a display, it would cut down the time to create a component considerably.

Alan:

Info should be up on our website in the next few days about upgrading policy.

rvogel:

We are keeping track of all those who recently purchased v2 and who qualify for a free upgrade - so you should receive it automatically when it is available.

Hi,

I think the address is wrong, you say it is...

jayne@matrixmutimedia.co.uk

This bounces back, I think it should be

jayne@matrixmultimedia.co.uk

( missing L in multimedia )

Hello ALAN_26,

Yes, it is a bit difficult to buy it on our website! I've had a word with a colleague who will hopefully make it easier.

To buy Flowcode v3, look here:

http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/product ... ersion%203

The upgrade policy and pricing is on page 8 of the datasheet:

http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/datashe ... C-60-3.pdf

It says the following:
Upgrading licences
Upgrades from one type of licence to another are simply the price difference.

Version 2 to Version 3 upgrade
Upgrades from version 2 to version 3 will be charged at 50% of the version 3 price.

Version 1 to Version 3 upgrade
Upgrades from version 1 to version 3 will be charged at 65% of the version 3 price.

Upgrade procedure
Please contact Matrix Multimedia or one of our dealers with your old serial number which is found on the inside of your CD ROM case.
So, please contact Jayne with your request:

Can I assume that since I purchased my Pro version in mid-September, I will recieve a free upgrade to V3? What do I need to do to make that happen?

rvogel,

It should all happen automatically, but to be on the safe side you could email Jayne with your purchase details to make sure we remember to send you a new CD.

Hi Steve,

Can you tell me what the status is of the possible implementation of a macro for RC5/RC6 IR remote control? At one time it seemed you found it interesting but I can't find anything about it on the forum. I have a need to implement soimple one-way commands through RC5 (philips) codes.

PS Does anybody else here have some info or experience in this?

TIA,

Jan Didden

We are always interested in new ideas for components and we do develop new components from time to time. It is a question of finding the time to do them.

Please email the code to me and I will have a quick look at it with a view to driving it from FlowCode. If it looks easy to incorporate, I'll see what I can do. If not, I'll try to give you some pointers to enable you to get started on this. Either way, we could end up with some kind of remote-control component for FlowCode, which will benefit all of our users and (as you say) be more "real-world".

As an aside, our IrDA E-Block is good for IrDA work and you can use it for more simple Ir communications. But it is a bit overpriced if all it is used for is Ir (because it has 2 chips dedicated to IrDA communication that will be essentially redundant). We do intend to make a new Ir-only E-Block in the next few months - but again, this depends on finding the time...

Hi Jan,

I always find things like this interesting! But like I said, finding the time to do everything is impossible.

We have no plans to implement the RC5 remote control protocol, but we will support you as best we can if you decide to implement this yourself.

OK, I have it implemented in asm for a 4MHz clock, so it should be possible to make it a stand-alone component. However, it uses TMR0 so there is probably some complication. I'll see how far I get, maybe I'll take you up on this ;-)
