Trimming an RC servo motor

Good day to all

I have created a flowchart for the control of 6 channels for RC servo motors from the Example servo component, am trying to create my own RC transmitter and receiver units. The flowchart has 4 servos which operate with joysticks such as store bought units, the other 2 channels are for landing gear and flaps.

What I would like to know is how do I incorporate a trim pot on the 4 flight control pots? Have tried many different scenarios using the same and different pins to trim the setting of the main pot, but the servo goes a bit crazy as the two inputs seem to cause confusion. How do they do this on commercial units?

Any help would be appreciated.

Have opened up my RC transmitter and found that the trim slider merely adjusts the potentiometer's angular position relative to the joystick lever. I was under the impression that it was an additional pot linked to the main one for trimming purposes.
