ILI9341 GLcd are too slow

As a few other people has mentioned the ILI9341 component are too slow.
Are there any chance you could make the component use the hardware SPI?

I'm using a PIC18F26K20 running at 64MHz (I've tested with oscilloscope and blink led).

Numbers are relatively fast (not super fast).
Draw a fullscreen rectangle takes way too long time.
Even the init take a very long time.
