No child Block

Post by JLeith »

Hello All
I was able to recover a lost file form my old hard drive.

When I open Flowcode I get a error message on the file that I have not seen

Is there some way to make it work

John

Hi John,
The contents of the Team LCD Version May 8 2018 recovery.fcfx does not resemble a flowchart at all.
If you open that and open a flowchart (that normally opens ok) in an editor then you will see how different it is.
Are you able to recover Team LCD Version May 8 2018.fcfx.001?
Then just delete .001

Hello Martin
Nice to hear from you.

I thought that might be the case. When I look at the recovery it comes up with the Flowcode image. I suspect the fcfx extension bring up the logo.

I have tried to find the 001 on the old drive using a program from EaseUS it finds the fcfx copy but not list the 001 version.

Just for future what is the 001 extension I see on a saved version ?

One of our forum members Grant worked with me on the NFR905 version and had a working old version for 2016. I had modified the 2016 version knowing more and more help on the NFR905 from the forum to the version that doesn't work.

Again thank you.
Off to see if the program can find 001 version

John

Hi John,
Just for future what is the 001 extension I see on a saved version ?
Flowcode1.fcfx = current Flowcode Project file
Flowcode1.fcfx.001 = Backup of the previous save of Flowcode1.fcfx project file

To go back to the backup version simply remove the .001 from the end of the filename.

Hi John,
Sorry I was going to reply but have been distracted recently.
Thanks, John & Hope you find it OK?
What I do with flowcharts is send them to my email then I know I have a copy if PC suffers failure in any way.

Good Luck.

Hello Martin
As of this moment it looks a long lost cause trying to retrieve the old flowcode design.

I was able to find old designs that I had posted and you helped and others to get me close to a working version.

in the old files I had working steps and I think I have about 4 months of programming to get it back.

I really respect the help that the members give to the lost programmers like me.

I'm still trying to get someone to look at the drive and see what they can find.

John
