EB-006-06 Issue

Post by Boomer »

Hi All,
I have both FC4 and FC7, running on the same laptop running win10.

If I use FC4 with the EB-006, the 16F877A programmes perfectly. Now in FC7 I cannot get the board or chip to programme

I get to the small screen requesting me to press the reset button or install the chip.

Pressing the reset or disconnecting the USB has no effect.

Any help would be gratefully accepted.

Ian

Hi Ian,
It maybe that the default programming software in V7 for PIC is mLoader!
Whereas mLoader is for EB006V9 and onwards
You will need to set up V7 with PPP via Compiler options and programming tab.
For settings see this page of Wiki

The default mLoader software will work with the older eb006 boards as is. Have you installed the usb driver for the board? The board is now over 12 years old so is well out of warranty and sounds like it may need replacing.

My apologies if I have got it wrong.
At least I now now EB006 V6 works with mLoader

I assumed that was the issue because of :

FC4 uses PPP

Hi Martin,

I must have missed the part saying it worked fine with v4 ;)

Certainly worth a try with PPP before scrapping the board but as far as I know mLoader should work fine assuming USB drivers are installed.

Hi Guys,

I have tried to change the config as described, given up trying to sort this out, so just purchased a new EB006v9 board. If this does not work this laptop will go out the window.

Only issue I see with this new board is that your not fitting the pin strips as on the v6 board for the hobbyist to wire direct to prototyping boards, Looks like a very intricate couple of hours soldering them in.

Well Here I go again,
Just took delivery of the v9 board. Same issue on Win 10, The board is not seen in Mloader or directly through FC7. What a pain.

Have you uninstalled the old drivers and installed drivers from here (Resources Tab)?
