GPS Question

Post by anzacinexile »

A simple question but I'm finding the answer difficult to find.

With the GPS component (EB056, Generic NMEA), what units does the "ReadGroundSpeed" report. Examining the datasheet, depending on configuration, the module is capable of meters/sec, km/hr or even knots and I'm not sure what config Flowcode uses

Thanks in advance

Chris

Hi Chris,

I believe the GroundSpeed reading is in knots.

The Flowcode GPS component takes the GroundSpeed reading from the RMC message string.

You're very welcome.
Now, to convert knots to MPH!!!!!!!
Simply multiply the ground speed value by 0.868976 to get MPH.
