flowcode5 over flowcode4

Post by kalim007 »

Hello,
I am using flowcode4 demo version for a while. I was planning to buy home version. But I see only flowcode5 is available. I am just wondering what are the new features in flowcode5. If anyone can give some information here. Is flowcode4 still available to buy with lower price?

Regards,
Khan Alim

Flowcode 5 has some very nice features over Flowcode 4.

For a summary take a look at pages 4 onwards of the data sheet:
http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/resourc ... klet-2.pdf
Each new version has many new features over the previous version.

For the record, I have both Flowcode 4 and Flowcode 5 and I always prefer Flowcode 5. Its so superior to Flowcode 4.
I find myself constantly using the extra features.

As for availability, i'm guessing V4 would not be available to buy.
Staff at Matrix Multimedia would know the facts about that, so they would be best to confirm it's available or not or not.

Hi,
Actually I would suggest you to buy Flowcode v5 as it has lots of new features. Couple of those worth mentioning:
1. It supports a wide variety of data type like signed and unsigned long variable etc.
2. Lots new chip added and fcd corrected.
3. Different interrupts implemented not all were available in v4.
4. Variable adding and deletion can be done with ease.
5. New dsp feature
Many more....

Wayne,
It's a small difference between v5 and v4. So, I bought flowcode 5.

Thanks!!

Your welcome kalim007
Hope it help you to make an informed decision :)

I did post something about your version here:
http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/mmforum ... 976#p45646

With Student/home version you will not be able to use advance components like communications, EEPROM etc.
So please bare that in mind when compiling to hex or target device.
