installing hp488

hi i have my hp488 dev board version 3 and i cant make my computer recognize when i connect it to the usb port, it acts as if i haven't connected anything.

You may have a jammed driver installation. It may be plug and play, but get the sequecewrong and USB is often plug and jam.

Can you download and install the latest version of PPP from the website.

As part of it there is a Driver installer.
Hopefully this will unjam the USB driver.
If not, there is a driver install doc that comes with the driver installer thar explains how to remove and re-install the USB drivers.

Users are recommended to always use the latest version of PPP.
PPP is updated on a fairly regular basis. The current PPP version is V3.8.11.24 released June 2006.
Open PPP and click on About in the Help menu to get the version number of PPP.

thanks for the reply but after a long observation of the card i found that the ppp firmware chip had pin 1 folded so it didnt entered the socket and so it would never work. However i finaly fixed it and now it works just fine
