Re: PICKit 3 compiler file
Hi Jan,
It's better to do the change yourself as Martin pointed out. Simply because the path to the MPLABX IPE changes with each released version number and that's if your using the default location which a lot of people don't.

Re: PICKit 3 compiler file
It took a while. That means the compiler and linker/assembler will be the same. And the default compiler must be made active for this (new) PICkit3 complier option.
Connecting the PICkit3 to the PC shows the power on and the active LED is on also.
Loading the flowcode file into my 16LF1847 microchip shows an error "Programmer not found" with error code 3 or 9.
Some idea what the reasons can be?
Kind regards
Jan
PS. Using the stand alone PICKit3 programmer in combination with the .hex file recognise the microchip and works fine.

Re: PICKit 3 compiler file
Hi all.
Just as an info not sure if this is Jan's problem however since MPLABX5.x the IPE.exe has moved location it is now in a sub folder called Platforms
the path is some thing like this C/programs(86) MPLABX/Platforms/IPE/ipe.exe
This caught me out last week and FC complains Programmer not found

Seems like Wiki entry could do with updating.

Hi Peter and Martin
My location is still:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microchip\MPLABX\v5.10\mplab_platform\mplab_ipe\ipecmd.exe
And the problems are still left.
Kind regards
Jan

Re: PICKit 3 compiler file
Have you tried programming with IPE first?
You could try with the PICkit3 unplugged, With reset button pressed in, pug the programmer back in.
Have you got power going to the target device during programming?

Hi Martin,
I tried IPE, but up to now it is not clear how to get that software work correctly.
The USB has been removed and plugged in again. Power and äctive" LEDs are on.
Kind regards

Re: PICKit 3 compiler file
Hi Jan.
In my humble opinion I am sure your path to the ipe is incorrect
with me there is no mplab_ipe
it is MPLAB/platform/ipe/ipe.exe
but every machine is different all I can say I am sure it is the path set to the ipe SW
Hope you get it right

Re: PICKit 3 compiler file
I would have thought using browse within programmer location of Flowcode would be better than typing or copy and paste?

I tried it first on my Laptop (see messages above) and now on my PC. A different error message, but with the same result. On this moment I will stop using the PICkit 3. All of you, thanks for helping

Re: PICKit 3 compiler file
Hi Jan,
No problem.
When you are ready to try again, I will take you step by step on programming with PICkit3 Via IPE
Once that is working flowcode should work.
