Update Error

Hello Dear Matrix Family
I hope you are fine. I know you work hard. I wish ease.

Flowcode8 was able to update a few times, but can not update at this time.
and Win10 gives an error like this.

"Flowcode stopped working. This problem stopped the program from working properly. Windows will close the program and let you know if there is a solution. "

I ran into this only in 18F2xK80, his family.
I deleted and reinstalled Flowcode 8 completely, but the problem did not improve.
I am running the program in administrator mode.

Hi,

Thanks for your post and sorry for the problem that you are experiencing. I am trying to replicate the issue but without success.

Can I ask why you are running Flowcode with administrator privileges? The software is not designed to be run in this mode. It is possible that this is what is causing problems, as I can think of a few potential issues that can arise from running Flowcode with admin privileges (related to copying files etc.)

I just wanted to do an experiment for Flowcode8, but it did not.

Flowcode was able to do a pretty good download before.

Can Windows10 updates cause this?

Hi Sadik,

We haven't encountered this problem before so please bear with us while we try to discover what the cause might be.

Admin mode should not be required for Flowcode operation including updates via the online repo. As Daniel says it may cause file problems.

Please can you confirm that Windows is installed onto the C drive on your computer and that the directory "C:\ProgramData\MatrixTSL\FlowcodeV8" is there. Simply copy and paste the address into a windows explorer address bar without the quotes.

If the folder is there then that's a good start.

Next have you tried updating a single file at a time. Maybe it is a specific file that is causing the crash?

As a fall back you can delete the "C:\ProgramData\MatrixTSL\FlowcodeV8" folder at any time and Flowcode should do a full rebuild back to 8.0 default the next time you start it. I recommend doing this in standard none admin mode to ensure no file permission issues occur at a later date.
