WS2811 component issue. (NOT solved)

Post by chad »

Hi there, Fund a small bug in the ws2811 component.
I recently received an update to the component and it disappeared from my 3d system panel.
If I add it. It shows up in the properties pane drop down but it does not show in the 3d.

Hi Chad,

Hmm it's working correctly for me.

Please can you right click the panel and select "Look at origin"

Then right click the panel again and select "Center all objects"

This should hopefully allow the component to be visible.

If you are still having the problem then do you get an outline showing up on the panel when you select the WS2811 component in the properties drop down list.

Hi Chad,

I think I may have now found and fixed the problem for you. Do an update using the Help -> Check for updates and it should flag the Clone Matrix component as having a new version.

Let us know how you get on.

Hi Ben,

Found another.

I think I have the chip clocked up to 180 mhz now. I think there might be something off with the new default starm instruction rate variable.
If I set it to 180mhz the led's don't work. But 360mhz double 180 does.

I also think that your nucleo 446re target sets the board to 100mhz by default. when you set the 180 default starm instruction rate variable in the component it was close enough for the led's to work but be a little flakey. They are behaving much better now.

Thanks,

Chad

The Special STARM Instruction number is a crap shoot. I have to look at the freq on the scope and plug in numbers until it it gets close to 800 khz for the neopixels.
