wifi E-Block and accelerometer E-Block

Post by benp »

That's not really a Flowcode V4 suggestion but a E-Block suggestion.

Do you plan to do a wifi E-Block?
It is possible to use an internet board and an ethernet to wifi but that's a lot of hardware. A direct wifi board would be simpler.
It would be very simple with the microchip modules:
ZeroG ZG2100M or ZG2101M
MRF24WB0MA or MRF24WB0MB
Of course flowcode macro are needed.

Another idea is an accelerometer/gyroscope E-Block. There are a lot of low cost chip on the market now.

We are actually looking into a WiFi E-block at the moment, and if this looks possible then we should have one completed perhaps in February.

An accelerometer E-block is not in our thoughts, but I will add it to our list of possibilities.

Many thanks for the suggestions!

A wifi E-Block sounds interesting.

I would possibly be interested in one if they became available. Watch this space :)

Will this E-Block be macro compatible with the ethernet E-Block?
I want to work with my students on wifi this year. Will the macro and E-Block be ready for march or it is better for me to wait next year.
My students are working work on a DIY segway this year.

I think it's a bit too early to say when this E-block will be available and what capabilities it will have. We should know more in a few weeks time...

Hello,

Sparkfun and 001tech sell a accelerometer module that works with the Flowcode beta accelerometer component. Wifi E-block is on my radar, hopefully I will know more about development times soon.

I am working with the SEN-092628 from sparkun since december 2010. It's easy to interface to an analog input. The only problem is to take care of the3.3V power supply. It would be just quicker with an E-Block and maybe more precise with an I2C or RS232 or ...
For wifi, my today solution is an ethernet to wifi bridge but this take some space and wires.
Do you think the wifi module will be ready in February as planned. They could be used in my projects. If avaiables next year, I don't know if I will still have the money to buy them...

With both module, I plan to develop a Segway like vehicle with my students.

new design for ethernet and wifi board

Post by benp »

I have seen the ethernet module EB023 is soon to be discontinued:
http://matrixmultimedia.com/mmforums/vi ... net#p21210
I need 10 wifi or ethernet modules for my students project.
Do you think the new hardware and software for ethenet and wifi will be ready before march or before september?
Then I can know how many of old/new design I can order.

Hello,

The ethernet board is currently under revision and should be ready before March. I have a meeting next week to discuss options for the wifi E-block so hopefully I will know more then. Don't think this will be ready before March but before Sept should be possible as long as we dont get any unforseen setbacks etc.

Hello,

The new Ethernet board is under development but there is currently a question about it as it uses a lot more current then the older module and this is causing a lot of problems with things getting very hot. For now I would order the existing E-block as we are not going to stop supporting this board any time soon.

Regarding the wireless LAN we have a module now and hopefully I will be able to get onto this shortly. I don't see any reasons why we shouldn't be ready with this E-block before June.

Hello,

For accelerometer and gyroscope, are you interested by pictures or video of a Segway like vehicle made from eblocks.

Thank you

Hello,

The Wifi E-block is ready and has just been released to dealers. We should have this item available to buy from our website this week or next.

We have a accelerometer E-block which is ready to go now however we currently cannot sell this on its own due to certain dealer restrictions, therefore we have unconfirmed plans for a gamepad E-block which will allow this functionality along with a few other new E-blocks :D

There are Wifi, GSM and accelerometer components coming in the update release of Flowcode which will be available shortly.

We are always interested in pictures and articles explaining how systems are created so if you have any of this then that would be much appreciated.

I have questions for your EB069 wifi E-Block
- Is it a rs232 to wifi?
- Will you have a "software rs232" for wifi E-Block: I would like to use GPS E-Block and wifi E-Block simultaneously.
- When the component for flowcode will be ready?

Hello,

Yes the module is a TTL level RS232 to WIFI.
A hardware UART is required to allow for the high data baud rate.
Newer chips with multiple UARTs 16F1946, 16F1947 etc and the WIFI component will be fully supported in the next update release of Flowcode coming shortly.

If I want to use wifi and GPS, I don't know which solution to use:
1-16F1946 is 64qfn, so it is not easy to plug in EB006 unless you have an easy adapter.
2- 18F26J50 would be another solution but need a 3.3V supply.
3- Dspic(or ARM/AVR) but we need a new flowcode licence and E-Block
4- Multiple pic and I2C bus
5-switch off wfi E-block and off gps and the opposite
6-software gps

Do you have a solution for 1, 2, 5, 6?

Thank you

Good day all. I have an application where I want to use WiFi for my connectivity. I see there is an e-block for this application. The product description states that "The board is compatible with the wireless LAN Flowcode component." I just downloaded and installed the new 4.5v of flowcode. I don't see any wireless LAN component. Also looking at the data sheet it looks like the eblock comes with a wiznet chip. Does the Flowcode LAN componet support the Microchip wireless LAN module?

Hi Ondra,

There is a fix to see the WLAN component here:
http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/mmforum ... =29&t=8700

This component only supports the Wiznet chip.

18k22 and 18k80

Post by benp »

The V4.5 doesn't seem to be ready for 18k22 or 18k80
Is the PPP still in beta for those components as explained here:
http://www.matrixmultimedia.com/mmforum ... ppp#p27872
Should I use that release of PPP wich contain the 18k22 but not the 18k80:

Flowcode V4.5 should work for the k22 family. However, our programming software PPP cannot program this particular family using the EB006 and therefore an alternative programmer must be used.

no erase on 18f26k22

I programmed with success a flash led on 18f26k22/EB006 with a PPP from benj.
I found that one here:

(post 18 Jul 2011, 14:33 )
Is that version stable enough to be used on bigger program?
