NEWS on the website: The Knowledge Exchange

We help hundreds of customers with their Flowcode problems via our forum.  To stop any programs or advice we provide becoming hidden, we have opened a new section entitled The Knowledge Exchange. This section is reserved for application notes, hints and tips, and other articles concerning Flowcode.

We want you to get involved in The Knowledge Exchange. After reading each article, you can score it on how useful it is, add follow-up posts which offer further help or request additional information. We’ll even be giving away prizes for the best user-contributed content we receive every month. Good luck and start posting.

Why Flowcode Student/Home users should turn Professional

The student/home licence version of Flowcode is a great tool for starting out with microcontroller programming, but it does have limitations. The code size is capped and components such as RS232 and Graphical LCD do not produce code.  These limitations are removed by upgrading to a Professional License.

The price of the upgrade is simply the difference in price between the student/home and the professional version.  There has never been a better time to convert. Upgrade before the 30 September 2008 and receive an ECIO 28 pin USB reprogrammable microcontroller on us.To take advantage, contact your dealer. You will need your licence details.

Communicating with E-Blocks and a PC

Learn how to perform simple communications between a microcontroller and a PC using a standard RS232 link or a USB cable (EB-039 USB board) on The Knowledge Exchange.

“When working with an embedded system it is often useful to connect the system up to a computer to allow for external monitoring of the system or to integrate an aspect of the embedded functionality into the PC itself. One of the simplest methods for achieving this is to use the hardware serial bus or UART that is built into most common microcontroller devices…” read more

Multiple servo control with Flowcode

Have you ever wanted to control servo motors using Flowcode?  In this Knowledge Exchange article, we explain the theory behind servo motor control and offer a fully-working program that can control up to 8 independent servo motors.

“The servo motors used in radio controlled models represent a simple solution for applications requiring accurate position control. The servos are self-contained control devices that require only a power supply (usually 0v and 4.5v - 6v) and a position control signal…”   read more
