Flowcode 6.1 Release and New Connectivity

As we have just managed to get Flowcode version 6.1 out the door and now seems as good a time as any to shout about some of the new features.

The theme of our blogs this month will be IoT or Internet of things to those of you who have not yet been hit with the push. Basically the idea is that soon almost everything electronic will have some kind of a link to the internet to allow everything to be more interconnected and intelligent.

We have three internet of things blogs planned for the next couple of weeks.

Simple IoT Relay
Simple IoT Sensor
Controllable Pan/Tilt Web Camera

To supplement the IoT development we have components to allow the EB023 (Ethernet) or EB069 (WIFI) E-blocks to provide the functionality. These components come with full simulation allowing you to create a Web Server or establish network communications within the Flowcode 6 simulation environment itself.

However if you don’t want to use the rugged E-Blocks system then you can instead use the raw ENC28J60 (Ethernet) or ESP8266 (WIFI) modules. Both of these modules can be bought direct from China for very low cost and we have topic on our user forums detailing their functionality as well as the path we took during component creation. Neither of these components currently simulate but work great with hardware.

If you are new to Flowcode then sign up for a 30-day trial and this will allow you unlimited access to simulate and compile during the 30-day trial period.
