The current divider circuit is used to divert current from one branch of a circuit to another. The output current produced by the circuit is given by:
IOUT = IIN x R1 / (R1 + R2)
It is, however, important to note that the output current (IOUT) will fall when the load connected to the output terminals has any appreciable resistance.
