Strange USB Behaviour with Windows 2000

Hardware : HP629 - Formula Flowcode Micromouse

Symptoms :

Formula flowcode micromouse remains in the device manager after it has been unplugged. Then when the micromouse is plugged in again the following messages appear.

An error occurred during installation of the device.
The installation failed because a function driver was not specified for this device instance.

Cause :

Due to a small incompatibility with Windows 2000 the USB device does not get removed from the Device manager when it has been unplugged.

Solution :

When you replug the micromouse into the USB, press the reset button on the micromouse. This refreshes the Windows device manager and allows the micromouse to function correctly again.
