I am currently working on a PID article that should be available shortly. In the mean time the algorithm for PID is as follows.

P * (Error – Prev_Error + (Error / I) + D * (Error – (2 * Prev_Error) + Prev_Prev_Error))

Hi cvanhal, Did you try to import by 1st running Flowcode, then use File/import.. menu? Note: you will need to select type of file or select all files in the new open window. I says i ned an program that is not installed on my computer, could not find out what it is so not lucky for me to look at it...

What version of Flowcode for AVR are you using and where did you get it from? These examples import fine to my version.

Thanks Ben, It will be fine really, just starting with a small motor lol. This is using a motor that is rotating at a contstant speed e.g 1200 RPM, not altering position. So no encoders, just two hall effect devices to measure the RPM speed of motor e.g used on a backward curve fan. The way it works...

You don't need AVR Studio 4 to program your atmega8, Flowcode can do that. Just make your program like you would do with other microcontrollers, compile to hex and send it with Flowcode.
